ANTI-PROCRASTINATION DAY

Dec 14, 2006 13:34

Lately it feels like I'm not getting anything accomplished, like I just sit around all day thinking about what needs to get done and never doing anything worth mentioning. All I can muster up the energy for are the bare minimums required of parenting and maintaining the household (but I guess that alone is more than some people can manage). So, yesterday I was dinkin' around on the internet and I read a post that said, "today is 'anti-procrastination' day." Is a few hours a day on the internet considered "procrastination?" I had to laugh! Right now, in fact, I am the only one home, which is a perfect opportunity for productivity. I did write a Christmas newsletter and address Christmas cards yesterday- for the first time in SEVEN years! NOW, I just have to buy stamps and MAIL them! Another thing: I've hardly begun my Christmas shopping and there are only ten days until Christmas. YIKES! I hate that such a meaningful holiday has become yet another symbol of our materialistic society. Our world is cluttered with crap! We don't NEED anything else. The only thing I need is more time and ironically this holiday just further depletes us. Enough venting, I'd better stop procrastinating!
