Snowflake Challenge - Day 2

In your own space, promote three communities, challenges, blogs, pages, Twitters, Tumblrs or platforms and explain why you love them. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1.  The write15 community on Dreamwidth.   The write15 community is a support group that encourages its members to write (or edit, or do another writing-related activity) for at least 15 minutes every day.  All the writing support communities I've found on LJ have been sort of humongous and heavily focused on prompts or posting of fic, but this one is basically just a supportive space to moan about how little progress you made, or maybe rejoice at how well you wrote today.  There are daily check-ins and discussion of writing goals.  There are currently only 23 members, and It's really quite comforting to have a space where I can let out all my insecurities and talk about the writing process.  It's also nice to see what other people are doing, what their goals are.

2. sentinel_thurs is a weekly challenge community for one of my old favorite fandoms, The Sentinel.  Each week on Thursday evening a new weekly challenge is posted.  The community is still posting prompts even now, which I think is absolutely amazing in a fandom that old.  I'd love to see more activity.  If you're a fan, or used to be a fan, please do think about stopping by and doing a challenge or two.  =)

3. Not really a fandom community, but... >__>   menstrual_cups is a support community for women who are interested in switching to menstrual cups for their monthlies.  It's good to have a community you can go to and ask questions.  I basically looked at each and every post before selecting the menstrual cup that was right for me .I personally believe that switching to green products for your monthly cycle is the best thing you can do for your body in that arena, but it took me a while to make the jump because it can be kind of scary and seem somewhat radical, so this community helped me a lot.  There's also cloth_pads, for those who don't like the idea of sticking something inside themselves.  They're way more comfortable than any disposable products I've tried.
