Really boring to my non-DC friends...
Bah. I'm grouchy. I'm trying to decide if it is worth my time to drive 60 miles (round trip) to pick up the new DVD releases from the past couple of weeks. Mainly meaning: Dawson's Creek S5, Gilmore Girls S3 and ER S3.
The latter two, I have no qualms with. I WANTS them now. The first one though. Bah. I mean, S5 sucked to begin with, folks, and now that I've read some of the *exact* music changes, I'm pretty much beyond pissy. I've always been mad about all the music changes these DVD releases have had, but this time. Fuckin' hell, people. Really. Get a grip, pay for the gorram songs like everyone else does, you idiots. Actually deleting aired scenes from a DVD release? You're supposed to add things. Not remove them. Freaks.
Anyway, here's a short list of songs I'm saddened to hear have been replaced:
"Drift Away" by Dobie Gray - Given, it's being replaced by a cover of the same song at least, still, Drift Away is *the* Mitch Leery song. The cover had better not fucking be a shitty one.
"Ghost" by Eastmountainsouth - Mitch's funeral song. Gone.
"Down Here" by Lori Carson - The song that opens Mitch's swan song. Gone.
Grr argh. I think my (second) favorite character's final arc, has just been fucked over music wise. I'm so sad, and not at all surprised.
I'm also sad that "Thistle" by Breech is gone too, eventhough that's a D/J song on the show. I just love it in general, and now associate it with a much happier couple to think about, Jack and Sawyer, hee!
There's a ton more too, but those are the main ones I'm foaming at the mouth over. Yes, the usually happy go-lucky and snark-through-anything Crystal is actually mad today. I think the crappy Lost from last night didn't help matters either. Heh.
The only thing that could make this worse is if someone kicked me in the shins and then told me Dougie Witter's brief appearance in S5 was removed just for shits and giggles.
