Smallville 100th Episode

Spoilery talk about Smallville the 100th episode.

- The anvil that knocked me out fifteen minutes in or so hurt, dammit. "I'll always need you, Dad" or whatever he said. I was like, "Yeah, you will, for another FORTY-FIVE MINUTES!" But I'm evil, so what do ya know?

- Chloe, Chloe, my heart breaks for you. But I do like that she didn't get all huffy. She was just a little sad. Nice choice, it makes her more likable.

- It took WAY too long for Lex to appear in the episode. Unacceptable. But, fucking WOW, was Rosenbaum amazing once he showed up. That's nothing new though. God, he's talented. His facial expressions alone make my heart happy. And him mocking Lana with the "really?" was hilarious. More Rosenbaum, thanks.

- Lex seeing Clark show up on the scene via his superspeed? My God, ROSENBAUM. I know it's repetative, but he broke my heart. It takes a very talented man to steal a scene using only his eyes.

- Welling did a great job there too, especially at first. The longer it went on, the less effective he/it was, but it was good. Jonathan being there? Cliche, sure, and anvilious, totally, but a nice touch.

- As much as I loathe Lana, and think Clark needs to be far, FAR away from her, I really did feel bad for Clark when he had to lie to her in the redo day. He ended up giving up so much for her and she'll probably never know it. Tortured hero, much?

- OMG, I love that Clark told Chloe about the redo day. I didn't really expect that for some reason. Be the real Lois, dammit! Be Lois!

- Mmmm, Magnificent Bastard.

- LOIS IS DEAD. LONG LIVE CHLOIS. (PS: I'm not that gulliable. Or unspoiled, heh. But a gal can wish.)

- When the kiss didn't happen the first time I was like, HOLY CUT SCENE, BATMAN SUPERMAN. But then I was like, OH! NEXT TIME! How much do I love that Lex didn't kiss her when she was still Clark's. That says so much about Lex and how he feels about Clark (and, fine, Lana). I don't mean that in an "Oooooh, Clark and Lex sitting in a tree!" way. Well, yes I do, but that's just me being me. But I meant it friendship/canon wise. Well, played, Al and Miles. Well played.

- Jonathan you hit Lionel, you will pay the price. All kidding aside, I do love how Schneider played his last moments. Looking at his wife, and then his son, with such love and finality. He knew it was over, and he got to say goodbye, especially since it was without words. I loved that. And, hey, he wasn't killed by a stray ice cream cone. All the better.

- I don't really have it in me to be heartbroken over Jonathan. And it's not that I didn't like him. He was fine. A little cheestastic with all the platitudes, a bad farmer and hell, even a little dim - but none of it was enough for me to hate him. I guess it's just that I'll never be as affected by a TV parent's death as I was Mitch Leery dying on The Creek. That really took everything out of me. Broke me. Not even Joyce in "The Body" upset me that much. So Jonathan? Sad. But nothing that could even make me tear up. (Though, The Ackles, got tears last week when I *knew* he wasn't dying, so ya never know what'll get you. Heh.)

- Apparently the cut Clark taking Jonathan to the Fortress?

- Annette O'Toole really does bring out the best acting Welling has to offer. Rosenbaum does a good job of it too. But she really seems to draw out the realistic emotional scenes from him.

- The funeral snow was SO pretty. And I do like that song. So all in all it was nicely done. I mean, that song won't break me like "Ghost" by Eastmountainsouth does. PS: I'm sorry I keep comparing it to DC. It just makes sense for me to do so though. They both lost their fathers at the same age, both on the WB, and so on.

- Lionel showed up at the funeral? Whoa. Moving on in quickly, are ya?

- Lex being in the back of cemetary BROKE ME more than the actual death did. That's where the small lump in my throat came from. He was just so alone back there. And Clark was so alone up front. Symmetry, much? I would have all but sold my soul to see Lex approach him at the last minute. Maybe it happened after the fade to black. Yes, in my head, it definitely happened that way. Fan fic waiting to happen? khohen1? *bats eyelashes* LOL.

- Overall, a decent 100th. Not anything like "The Gift", and just to keep the comparsions going it was WAY better than DC's shittastic 100th. I think that was the worst 100th ever. If Smallville had killed off Lionel AND Lex, it couldn't have been that bad. At least SOMETHING would have happened then, lmfao.

So yeah, I liked it. Not my favorite ep, and I was spoiled enough to know most of the plot, but not so much that it was boring. That's all I can think of for now. I need to re-watch it to take it in more. More intense Rosenbaum watching, if you will. Heh.
