In case you haven't been keeping up with my status on facebook, here's a rundown of the last few days.
Wednesday I saw the doctor for my 38 week appt. He let me know I was dilated to 1cm and he could strip my membranes. He did that, checked that the little guy's head is in the proper position, and sent me on my way. I was thrilled that he did it, but I wasn't betting on anything.
Wednesday night I didn't sleep because I developed a terrible tooth ache. Back when I had my prenatal dental check they filled two cavities and said I would need a root canal for a tooth, but that I should come back during trimester two when I was less likely to puke on them. Well, I'd never had any pain from said tooth so I just figured I'd put it off for post baby time. Bad idea. I got up this morning and went to dental sick call (with a few strings pulled by my hubby giving the girls in dental treats that I'd made) and found out I'd be getting a partial root canal. I was horrified. Root canals are awful! I'd never had one, but you always hear how awful they are. Well, mine was fantastic. It's only halfway done, but it took 35 minutes and I'm still blissfully painless. They got me pain meds, but I haven't even needed regular tylenol.
Yesterday I lost my mucus plug. TMI? Anyhoodle, as I said before after seeing the doc I wasn't betting on going into labor, it would have been a perk, but I wasn't counting on it. But with the loss of the yucky plug I was jumping up and down. (Literally, I've been doing jumping jacks trying to get this kid out.) So, now I've taken the stairs four times today (I live on the fifth floor) and I've walked all over the base. I even got a pedicure. I'm now cautiously hopeful.
Wish me luck! And you'll probably see there's a baby on facebook before you see it here. Unless I give Cheyenne permission to post here. We shall see. I've got to go do some more labor inducing things.
