In literature, we have archetypes such as the Wise Old Man, the Hero, the Animus, Anima, etc. Japan also has its own archetypes, though I think the names of these archetypes originated from anime fans. Here's a meme about some popular archetypes commonly found in anime, manga, video games and other forms of Japanese pop culture; I grabbed it from Si.

The verdict is in: I'm a meganekko (a girl with glasses, who is usually stereotyped as being talented in some field, but who is painfully shy and rather clumsy sometimes). The tsundere and yandere archetypes are tied at 3 points, though I think I'm more of a yandere (someone who's usually gentle and nice but who shouldn't be taken advantage of because when she snaps, watch out) than a tsundere (someone who's tough but actually has a gentle side, e.g. Helga Pataki from Hey Arnold!).
