After doing some thinking (and the occasional window shopping), I finally came up with my Christmas wish list. They're kind of expensive, so I'm not getting my hopes up about getting them. I kind of feel guilty, sometimes, when my parents buy the things I want. There's pleasure derived from getting the things I want, but at the same time, there's also a slight twinge of guilt that fades after a few days. But I'd really, really love to have them for myself! :) When Christmas rolls along, I enjoy treating myself, and my friends/loved ones, to presents.
1. Hello Kitty bags. To be specific, I'm referring to this new line of Hello Kitty bags that come in black and white. They look kind of Gothic Lolita-esque to me, and I kind of like Goth Loli stuff (but I can hardly find them anywhere). I also find accessories with lace adorable. These Hello Kitty bags come in different sizes - there are large bags, and there are purses (that have lace). There are also eye masks (also with lace - I mistook the black one for a maid costume headdress!) and handkerchiefs, but I don't think shelling out P500+ for such things would be worth it (heck, I got an eye mask for P20). I fell in love with these bags when I saw them. I'm not a fashionista or a bag-crazy person, but every now and then there are these bags that remain in my mind and imagination for a very long time. These bags are just some of them. The white ones usually have an angelic-looking Hello Kitty, and feature designs such as angel wings; on the other hand, the black ones feature Hello Kitty sporting a darker look, with bat wings and such all around. I want one (or more) of these bags!! :( Why do they have to be so expensive?
Pictures below:
I think I like the black bag better. The white purse is cute, though, and it has LACE! <3 By the way, pics taken from the Sanrio Taiwan website, because I couldn't find any Sanrio Philippines website. I was seriously considering taking a photograph of those bags when I stepped into Gift Gate, but in the end, I decided not to.
Anyway, moving on...
2. Dirty Minds. Sorry if I might offend anyone reading this. It's described as an "adult game," but it's not porn or anything. It's a guessing game - players have to guess the object described by the clues. The clues are naughty (well, if you have a dirty mind XD), but the object described is nothing close to raunchy - it's usually an ordinary object.
TDC Games describes it as such: "The dirtier a mind you have, the worse you will be at playing Dirty Minds." And because I am... ahem... rather imaginative, I sometimes suck at this game. It's loads of fun, though. Saw this once at MoA, but I was shopping with my family, so buying it was out of the question.
3. Miscellaneous anime and manga. I'm not very updated on the anime scene - despite being an anime fan - so any anime that sounds interesting would be nice. If it catches my fancy, I might buy it. Or something. I'm thinking Code Geass (everyone seems to know this anime), Claymore (Is this good? I've also been hearing raves about it), Romeo x Juliet and maybe The Prince of Tennis (because, despite my aversion to series with an overwhelming number of episodes, I'm kind of intrigued;
tanteicchi keeps raving about it). Anything good that isn't too long, in general. :) As for manga, let's see... the latest volume/s of Ouran (I have until volume 9) and this obscure manga called Dolls by Yumiko Kawahara.
4. J-doramas and Asian movies. I want Hana Kimi and Liar Game so badly! It's also been a while since I last watched an Asian horror movie. How is Asian horror faring now? It rose in popularity after Ringu, but I haven't heard much about Asian horror lately. :( I don't know if the titles I've seen on Wikipedia are any good. But I want to watch an Asian horror movie! Not Uzumaki, though. The spirals creep me out. And yes, I want to watch some non-horror Asian movies too, like Lust, Caution (I promise it's not because it's rated R-18!). And after someone from M04 brought up the topic on Wong Kar Wai (in one of the earlier posts on our e-group, I think), I want to watch a Wong Kar Wai movie.
5. Good grades. I won't be able to enjoy my Christmas break if my mind will be clouded with worry... :(
6. Getting to see my HS friends again. Especially those whom I haven't seen in a while. I also want to see Chong before she leaves for China at the end of the month. I'm happy for her, because she's going to become an intern in China for six months! Her knowledge of Mandarin gave her an advantage over the others who applied for the internship problem. It's great that, even though she's still in her freshman year, she's already being presented with such a great opportunity. I'm going to miss her, though.
7. Misc. anime memorabilia. I want some Fullmetal Alchemist, Darker than Black, Ouran and Death Note items. I miss my shopping sprees in Akihabara (did more window shopping than actual shopping, but it made me so happy)...
8. Clothes? Like I said, I'm no fashionista, but I do wish that I had some nice clothes to flatter my figure, because it's kind of difficult to find clothes that are pretty and that look good on me.
9. Books. I've also been out of touch with the world of books lately. A good book would be nice. :) Suggestions?
10. Neckties. I've been influenced by
orenji_graffiti and
tanteicchi! Neckties are nice and they look cool (and not just on corporate attire). A Slytherin or Ravenclaw necktie would be oh so pretty.
11. Pocky. With all the unique flavors, and not chocolate or strawberry. :( Unfortunately, that's out of the question; I don't think the unique flavors are available here. Unless I check out the Japanese groceries, I suppose. But where the heck in Metro Manila is Little Tokyo?
Ack. Suddenly I sound so materialistic... *is kind of guilty*
By the way, I might go on hiatus again. I have a research paper to work on, so until the deadline passes, I'll probably have no time to post here.
