(no subject)
Okay so for those of you who didn't know I've been having crazy money issues lately. My financial aid and scholarships just barely cover my tution.. whiiich is unfortunate since last year it covered my rent and everything. This year I wasn't so lucky, I had to cut down my classes because I couldn't afford all of them and I had an oh-so-lovely rent charge of 510 a month that I absolutely could not pay. My parents are in just as bad of a situation as me, if not worse, and I can't get a student loan because they are in such awful debt.
Suffice to say it's not a terribly good situation when you have a 510 dollar rent hanging over your head and there's also the issue of fun things like affording groceries and ridiculously expensive art supplies and such. It's scary times.
The reason why I was searching so desperately for a job is because of that. I've been searching nonstop for a good year and never got anything except for that job with my grandpa this summer. Either people aren't hiring or when they do have interviews I would always get turned aside due to lack of experience. It was not good times and this week I was getting to the point where I was considering just throwing myself in traffic since it seemed like the better option.
Buuut thankfully things have gotten better. That's right, I have an actual job! I applied at my school as an office assistant and I actually got the job. I start on the 24th and I work every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. I get 15 hours a week and get paid minimum wage. I dunno if it's quite enough to make 510 dollars a month, but I should be able to pay the difference... I may start taking commissions again once I get my current ones off my plate to help pay the difference.
So yes, thank God. ;w; I hopefully won't get kicked out of my apartment, yay~!
