Weekend of AWESOMENESS!
Ok, so my anger was short-lived on Friday... I know my blogs can seem a bit bi-polar-ish, because one minute I'm super happy, and the next I'm raging pissed, but that's just how I am I guess... I can switch on a dime... That's just something within me, I know it's not ideal, but my moods can change faster than you could believe (LoL)... Anyways, my weekend was fabulous!!!
Friday: I got off work and went home... Brian didn't end up doing the side job at Zack's house (he's doing it today), so he got home just a few minutes after me… I told him I was going to take him out to eat on Saturday night, but we decided to go on Friday instead… It was a surprise for him; he didn’t know where we were going to eat, so I took him to Bonefish Grille… It was SUPER yummy!!!! I got the rockfish which was stuffed with shrimp and crab, and Brian got the filet mignon with shrimp scampi, and then we got crème brule for dessert. We also got this drink that was vodka and strawberry lemonade and basil, sounds weird, but it was SO good! Our bill was $85 but it was so good! After dinner, we went and met Billy and Des at Dave & Busters for a little while I played pool and had a couple of drinks. Then we went home and passed out.
Saturday: Brian had to work, so I slept in until around 11am (which was awesome!) and then had the whole day to myself... I vegged around the house for a bit and then I went to the bank and to Starbucks…. Then I stopped at Elements Massage to get Wes’s graduation gift, I got him a gift certificate for a 55 minute hot stone massage, I think he’ll dig it… Then I went to the day spa and got my mom a gift certificate for a spa manicure and pedicure for Mother’s Day, and I got my eyebrows waxed while I was there… Then I went to the nail place by our house and got a pedicure… After that I went home and vegged some more, and caught up on some of my DVR shows. Brian ended up working late, so he didn’t get home until around 8pm, and then we went and had dinner at Hacienda Colorado with Jeff.
Sunday (Mother’s Day): We had reservations at Yia Yias at 11:30am, so I got up around 10am and started getting ready… We got to Yia Yias and Brian’s mom gave me this gorgeous potted plant of African Daises for Mother’s Day… I didn’t really expect anyone to acknowledge me as a “mom” even though I take care of Brian’s kids when they are with us, so I was pleasantly surprised when his mom recognized me for the “mothering” that I do indeed do. Brunch was amazing of course, Yia Yias has the best brunch ever… And the all-you-can-drink mimosas aren’t too bad either (LoL).
After brunch, we went back home and I made my corn soufflé to take over to my mom’s house… We got over to my mom’s about 4pm (30 minutes late) so everyone was already eating, but that was okay because I really wasn’t even that hungry… Brian was of course being his chattery little self, and he’s had a few mimosas, so he was even more social… I love him like that, I love how outgoing he is, but I think it weirded Kevin’s (my mom’s husband) parents out a little bit, and my mom even seemed kind of embarrassed, which really pissed me off… She kept giving him and me these weird looks like, “I wish he would be quiet,” which automatically put me on the defense. My family is very quiet, not very outgoing, and a bunch of wallflowers… Brian isn’t, and I LOVE that about him… None of his family is either; they’re loud, and boisterous, and I love it! So Brian went downstairs to show my little brothers something on-line and my mom was all, “I think he’s had a bit too much to drink, and he’s making me uncomfortable.” Give me a freakin break. He honestly did not have that much to drink, and it really pissed me off that my mom attacked him like that… Brian loves my family, he thinks they are great, and for her to talk crap like that really hurt me… So I just left it at that and went downstairs to hang out with Brian and my little bros.
I also don’t mind when Brian has a few drinks, because he opens up A LOT more, just like most people do when alcohol brings their defenses down… He was talking to his brother Gary on the phone, about his daughter, and me, and he got all sentimental, and it was so sweet… He got off the phone and was telling me how me and Danica are his whole world, and he would never do anything to mess that up, and he gets excited when he think about out life together, and imagines having a baby together (even though we both agreed that needs to wait a bit - LoL). My heart just melts! I really wish I could record moments in time like that, so I could play them back when things get crappy… I also asked him to mellow out about and I think it hurt his feelings that I said that to him, he wants nothing more than for my family to accept him and to like him, and I think he took at as my mom doesn’t like him, and that broke my heart… So we went back upstairs and he did mellow out a bit and then we all started talking about weddings! Hehe well me and Mel (my brother’s girlfriend) did, but then Brian actually joined in the conversation! We were talking about how we want our wedding outside, and what kind of food we want, and who will be in our wedding party, and what colors everything will be, and where we want to go on our honeymoon and stuff like that… My mom was all “Are you trying to announce something here?” Again, being sarcastic, which pissed me off again. I was all, “No, we’re just talking.” I kind of whispered to Mel, “I wish I was.” Brian was all, “You don’t have to wish, it won’t be too far away.”
We left my mom’s house around 7pm and went home… Did I also mention the sex is BOMB when Brian has a bit of a buzz going on!!!! OMG!!! We walked in the front door and didn’t even make it into the bedroom! We got it on right on the living room couch and floor! And it was HOT!!! We haven’t had that AMAZING of sex in awhile, it was the shit!! HaHa Then we went to bed and just laid there talking some more, it was perfect… We talked about weddings and babies and moving into a house, and all kinds of great stuff… It was one of those moments that just bring you together even closer as a couple… We also decided we’re going to get tattoos together… Him and Amanda got matching tattoos which makes me want to vomit to think about, but what’s done is done, ya know… I don’t want matching tattoos, but I was a “set” of tattoos, ya know when one goes with the other… Maybe something like a lock and key…
So we’re trying to plan a BBQ in the next couple of weeks so my family can meet Brian’s family, and I was SO super stoked about it, but after my mom’s attitude yesterday I’m a little weary… I don’t want my mom to judge Brian’s family just because they are different than what she is accustomed to… And I can just see her doing that… But Brian is so so so excited about his family meeting my family, so I really hope it goes smoothly… And I might even have a talk with my mom, so she knows that Brian’s family is not like ours, and that’s one of the reasons I love them so much, and I hope she can keep an open mind and not judge them and see them for the great people that they are…
Brian has today off work, so he’s probably at home catching up with some Halo playing (LoL) and then he has to go meet his PO at 2:30pm and then he’s going to do the job at Zack’s house… So he’ll probably get home about the same time as me… Did I mention that I love that man!!!!
