Yesterday we left Saskatoon with our Prairie Team in Training team. I’ve never done a race with 50 other people, most of them strangers. However, there a few that are quickly becoming friends.
My nutrition plan is to stay as normal as possible. However, last night I went out in search of a vegan restaurant. The place I wanted to go was closed, but I’ll be heading back there for lunch. Instead, my fellow vegetarian Ashley and I headed to a Lebanese restaurant and had a wonderful meal even with DESSERT! It’s just so refreshing to go to places where people know what vegan is and they don’t look at me with the blank look. I often forget what that is like to be in a place that is educated about vegetarians.
MelloJohnny has taken a bit of a different approach. As I type this he is eating Ju-Jubes and drinking Ensure (he does drink that a lot). However, because he doesn’t really have a “normal” eating pattern, I guess this normal for him.
Vancouver is treating me well. We are staying in a wonderful hotel in downtown Vancouver. I bought a record about prairie songs, which I’m excited about. At the race package expo I got a few things.
After walking around all day my knee was not sore. This is a good sign I figure. I’ve been stretching and taking lots of ibuprofen. Looking forward to the marathon tomorrow!!!
