Got kinda busy...
Yep, it's that time of year. When you just get too busy to find a little time for yourself. So what did I get up to? Let's see, we had Yule Toy Tourney on 12/13, and I had a great time. I got to fight as much as I wanted to (well almost...), and the fighting was interesting. I think I did really well for someone who hasn't gotten to practice as much as I'd like to. Baron Talun brought his German Two-hander for me to borrow and I really appreciate it. I've ordered one from him and hope it comes in soon. I can't wait to start practicing with it. Elphin and I fought for over half-an-hour straight with no let up with great-swords. He said I have lots of potential with great-sword (cool!). Exchanged 12th Night gifts with Eldred and Ealdryth. They really geeked out over their gifts (Sonic Screwdrivers and Steampunk buttons/brooch). Missy, Jackson and I received REALLY nice gifts from them (Jack got the coolest lego video games from them). Unfortunately, my wife and son were unable to go due to our son having acted up at school during that week. We ended up having to go to the school to speak with the teacher and GC about it. It is really strange for him to have been acting in this manner. We worked with him on his attitude and he has gotten back to his normal behavior.
Missy has been busy with some really nifty 12th Night gifts. She got some microscope slides and printed out some stained-glass window designs of St. George and applied them to the slides. Then she covered the edges with aluminium tape, making miniature stained-glass ornaments for everyone. REALLY COOL!
We had a great Christmas Eve with my father-in-law. He interacted with all of us better than normal and seemed to enjoyed himself. Jackson absolutely loved all of his gifts that he got, but then again, he always loves getting things. Christmas morning was a joy! Jackson racked up on the Indiana Jones toys/games/movies/etc. He even got a real leather jacket like Indy! We went up to my parents house about noon and had a great time. Jackson and Cullen racked up (of course, they are grandchildren...). After asking for Lowe's cards, my dad started claiming he wanted a new toilet and bath-tub for their new house, so I decided to mess with him. I went and bought 10 or so gift cards to Lowe's (of various values), Missy wrapped them individually, then wrapped them together, put them in the bottom of a gift bag and put tissue on them. Then we got a little doll-house bath-tub and toilet, wrapped them in tissue and put them on top. But wait, there's more! Next we placed this in the bottom of a large box and filled it with paper (recycled), and wrapped the whole thing twice over. A little excessive, but I haven't gotten to mess with him in awhile, so took full advantage of it... Got some GREAT gifts myself and Missy got some really nice Christmas presents all around.
Christmas night, I wasn't feeling too well. That is a bit of an understatement, I was SICK! As in: "Don't touch me, don't look at me, don't even come near me!" sick. This lasted until late Friday night/Saturday morning. I'm better now, but I haven't been that sick in a long time.
