Sakura was smart beyond her years.
She didn't have Shikamaru's genius; able to process thousands of situations, to predict outcomes, to plan ahead many steps: to think for the future.

Instead, Sakura could think for the present, calculate collisions, landing points, acceleration of objects over a given curve.
She used to watch the other students at the academy practise, learning first-hand how different factors affected a projectile's trajectory.

---

Sakura ran onto the hospital roof.
The adrenaline rush slowed down time, her brain launching into action, quickly calculating Sasuke and Naruto's movements:
The angle of the wind, their speed.
She calculated her own path: acceleration, velocity.

She processed the point of intersection.

She would make it in time.

She felt their jutsu:
Sasuke's crackling madly; nothing like the sweet chirping of birds.
Naruto's spinning, uncontrollable, unpredictable: just like him.

Even as she was dying, she felt a small satisfaction that her calculations had been correct:
Rasengan slowed down, Naruto finally realising his actions, trying in vain to prevent the inevitable.
Chidori pushed forward, a mercy move, ensuring a quick death.

Sakura just hoped they had learned their lesson.
