Back in Andover now!
J & I were chatting on the phone - in the same time zone for the first time since January. Our long separation and my surprise being again in my country prompted a conversation wherein we examined how experience has tested, stretched, and challenged what we learned whilst at Bryn Mawr. This in turn led to our chuckling over the profiles on the Alumnae page. These comprise a portrait plus a caption of what each alum took from BMC: most cite their Martyrdom as the foundation of success in various male-dominated fields.
We appreciate this for, though our experiences bifurcated last summer, BMC primed us to relate wonderfully with guys and (as the flip side of this coin, I suppose) sunk our ability to interact with other women. So noted, here is our proposed contribution to the page:
"I am not afraid of women, but now they're afraid of me."
Shall we snap our headshots on Photo Booth and submit them with our observation? Our gains from Bryn Mawr were prodigious and sometimes best served with humor.
