I almost didn't want to do this... but I figured I should just so I can complete the season. This is bad when I don't even want to talk about House anymore.
House 7x18: The Dig aka the 150th ep
Okay, hitting 150 eps is HUGE. I will admit that. That is amazing considering most shows don't even get to 100. So having House hit that milestone is great. The cast and crew all deserve props for that.
Now that's over with, the 13-centric ep was... decent. At first I was really excited because I've missed 13 quite a bit this season, but after I read a few more spoilers, I lost all enthusiasm. The ep made me feel a bit better, but the spud gun competition was... random. Plus, I find it hard to believe that House couldn't create a better spud gun considering the vast knowledge he has. Really? This guy designs Rube Goldberg contraptions and all these other inane things that boys like to do but he can't make a decent spud gun? Yet he can create and solve physics problems that a high school kid can do.
Anyway, that's not the problem.
The problem is everything else with this show. But this ep was far better than most of the season. Even if I could see the euthanasia storyline a mile away. Come on. It had to deal with her Huntington's. I just didn't foresee the brother aspect because we were never given any inclination that she had siblings, but I knew it had to be something with her disease. I thought maybe she might've killed someone else, some other Huntington's patient.
-Martini/soda thing was cute.
-Harold (or whatever that kid's name was) was kinda funny being all cocky and sleazy. I knew once he opened his mouth about being dumped, House would totally go all crazy on him. I wasn't expecting him to actually fire the spud gun at him, but House's anger had finally gotten the best of him. Not that I'm excusing him, just that at least there was some good build up to it. I was expecting that to happen sometime soon. Lashing out at Cuddy with a green card wedding was definitely not enough or satisfying since he regretted it soon after, but shooting a rival with a potato? Oh, totally satisfying. ;)
-I love the House/13 relationship. I love how little they say and still get each other. They have some kind of deep connection rooted in pain/despair where they can relate and be comfortable. That teaser scene where they didn't say a word was beautiful. Also, the entire spud gun area where they shot was gorgeous.
-Seeing Damon Lindelof getting kneed in the groin was hilarious and must've been satisfying for those that were not happy with the Lost finale. :P
-House hates chili. That is one thing I learned in this ep. And I hate House for hating chili. Boo. Big minus points for you, buddy.
-The other thing I learned: Hugh looks AMAZING in plaid. How can he pull that off and be so hot?
-The watch is back. Apparently Hugh felt it was the right time to put it back on. I won't really speculate what that means. There are some crazy theories out there, but I don't really buy the hallucination/infection/time lapse thing. There could be some credence to a few points, but idk, I think that'd be too big for the show to pull off after having so many hallucinations beforehand. I don't think there'd be enough set up, although the big S5 reveal did happen in the last four eps, so I could be wrong. Any theories for the watch? Metaphorical in stopping time while he was with Cuddy? Little watch gremlins stole his other one? Rachel ate it? Anything?
-"I'll kill you." Only House can say those three words and make it significant and nearly romantic. It's huge. It's a ginormous statement, nearly as big as 'I love you.' He's willing to do a completely selfless act. He will kill 13 when it's time and he'll be there for her when she dies. His 'everyone dies alone' line is gone. Chase was right, House doesn't believe in that anymore. No one should die alone and the fact that he's willing to do the ultimate thing for 13, offering to end her suffering when it gets too much, is astounding. He doesn't get anything out of it. It's almost like when House agreed to the deep brain stimulation and potentially die to figure out what was wrong with Amber because Wilson is his bff.
Too bad that didn't make me care.
I think I've gotten so bitter and resentful, it didn't make me fall over and die and be all OMG HOUSE. HOUSE. YOU'RE GROWING UP. A;LSKDJFA;SLDKFJAL;SKDFJ No. In fact, I just blinked, smiled a little maybe, and shrugged. Because in the next ep, we'd probably see nothing of that again. And maybe by the next ep, everyone will be entirely new characters. I've gotten so apathetic that I don't feel a thing when House offers to end 13's suffering. It's not even to a patient, a stranger, it's to someone he works with, which should be epic, but it doesn't phase me.
Or maybe I'm depressed.
Idk, but I've lost all enthusiasm for this show. I don't want to be a downer but I just can't bring myself to care.
House 7x19: Last Temptation
-The fact that MASTERS, a GUEST STAR, gets an entire ep from her POV surprises me. We haven't gotten any of that from the rest of the team, except 13 in the last ep, but even then it wasn't solely from her POV. This ep, totally was. It was like 'Wilson' and '5 to 9' of Masters.
-It... wasn't all that great. Especially since a majority of the fanbase doesn't care for Masters, having an entire ep all about her is brave. I'm not sure if that'll help ratings especially since we're going into a two week hiatus. People definitely will not want to watch, even if CMFB appears, people won't remember. I almost didn't watch tonight's ep (but that was for personal reasons).
-Okay, before anyone knocks the whole folding paper airplanes, sometimes doing something mundane like that is a good way to reduce stress. I fold origami stuff when I'm bored or stressed or contemplating. But I don't hang them from the ceiling.
-They referenced CAMERON AND STACY in this ep. WHAAAAAT. Chase talking about change and how people around you don't always like it. Then Wilson flat out talks about what happened to House's leg. What. Then, of course, the only way to make this ep interesting is to put Masters in a similar situation and see what she does. She pulls a Stacy. Foreman pulled a stunt similar to that in 'Moving the Chains' with the giant football player and making him go blind so he'd go back to the hospital. But she pulls a stunt that she normally wouldn't have, feels guilty, then leaves. Woo... hoo? What does this mean? House corrupted yet another person, but this time, they get out before it gets worse. Um, yay?
-Idk if it's the shows age or the lame writing or me, but I am not compelled. Honestly, the only thing I'm looking forward to is seeing CMFB. But even then, I'm not jumping up and down after that promo. I was with the pics, but the promo makes me worried that they'll destroy what's left of Cuddy's character. It'll be nice to see family drama plus House again, but I sincerely hope they don't do the 'pretend to be my bf because I never told my mom we broke up' deal. That sounds ridiculous. Sure, it'd be cool in fic if they weren't just in a relationship, but otherwise, that'd be unnecessarily cruel and no one deserves that, not even House. I'd like to believe that Cuddy's telling him as a courtesy that her mom will be in the building and a warning that both their jobs are on the line. But all this is out of context so whatever. Maybe sneak peeks will come out and give me some hope or enthusiasm.
-But to have Arlene sue her own daughter? What kind of relationship is that? Although after what happened in my own home this evening, I almost believe it. Then again, mine was something stupid. House and Cuddy did save Arlene's life even if what they did was completely horrible and illegal. Maybe it'll be a revenge plot or a common enemy plot to get House and Cuddy to just TALK about their relationship. Even if they never get back together, it'd go a long way with them. But knowing this show, we won't get a thing because we've just hit the big reset button in the sky. sigh.
Castle
Yeah, I'm a week late. Sorry.
-The case was okay. It was compelling. I didn't realize who the killer was until the end. I didn't even think the coach had anything to do with the case until the poker game.
-BRENDAN HINES! AKA LOKER FROM LTM. HEE. YAYAYAYAYAY. While I'm not fond of Loker, Alex Conrad made me happy. He's Castle's student of sorts. His mentee. And I love that Castle got all jealous a;sldkjfa;lsdkfjas;ldkfajsldf JEALOUS!CASTLE IS ALWAYS SO FUNNY.
-The Mystery Writers Poker Club hazing was AWESOME. ;;ADKFJAS;LDKFJA;LSDKFJALS THE HAZING. THE GIRLFRIEND KILLER TOTALLY BEING REJECTED. LOLOLOL. OH POOR CONRAD. Btw, 'Seriously Dead' is a lame title.
-Martha and Alexis had me rolling with how they blew off Castle's jealousy and made fun of him. "Muse thievery. What's the punishment for that? Five to ten is mythology jail?" LOL. I DIED. ALEXIS, YOU ARE AWESOME.
-RYAN. AND THE FOUR IRISH BROTHERS. LEPRECHAUN TOSS. LOLOLOL. OH RYAN, HOW I LOVE THEE.
-THE LAST SCENE. I CANNOT TELL YOU ENOUGH ABOUT THE LAST SCENE. JUST ♥ One-writer girl. Always. Yes, I am jealous and if that makes me petty, then so be it. Guilty as charged. GUH. WHYYYYYYYYY ARE YOU GUYS SO AMAZING? ALKSDFASKLDJFA;SLDKFJAS;LDKF I HAVE A REASON TO FLAIL AGAIN. TO FALL IN LOVE WITH ANOTHER COUPLE AGAIN. GOD. IT FEELS GREAT TO BELIEVE AGAIN.
-They don't need to get together right now. I love the way Castle sat down in his chair at the end like normal. They just need to keep building on that before diving in. I just hope they don't wait too long because that could ruin everything, but they need a deeper connection there. They've been through a lot, sure, but they're finally becoming a little more than just partners or just friends. It's so much fun and so beautiful to watch. Beckett just needs to get rid of Josh first. It's more fun when they're both single.
Also, can I just flail about Back to the Future? I just watched the whole series and fell in love. I watched the first one a long long long time ago and didn't remember a thing, then my bro expressed some interest in watching it, so I downloaded all three parts and we just finished the last one last night. ;alksdjf;alsdkjfa;lsdfj So awesome. Now I need to re-watch Indiana Jones. I remember more of that series than Back to the Future lol. Plus, I don't think my bro has seen them either. Hmm.
