Castle 3x19
I am SO glad House is on hiatus. I never thought I'd ever say that in my life, but I really am. Gives me time to forget what's happened and focus on more awesome shows like Castle.
Before I forget, I don't think I put up my recap of last Bones ep. I absolutely LOVED it. I hadn't enjoyed a Bones ep like that in a very very long time. It was all sorts of awesome. Especially that adorable ending. Hee.
Castle
Okay, this ep ROCKED. It was a little different from what I'm used to but they had some really good personal conflict and a crazy case that even I couldn't predict.
The Case
-Pretty crazy with a juror buying his way onto a jury? Whaaaat. Never heard of that. But it was to acquit an innocent man and protect his brother.
-I did NOT see the fact that the juror's brother's fingerprints would be on the car seat buttons. That REALLY threw me. I was like WHAAAAT. NO WAY.
-Having the vic's brother accidentally kill her was sad. THAT IS WHY YOU DON'T DO DRUGS. Are all rich kids druggies? Because that's what television is suggesting. All these rich kids that go to these prestigious schools are into drugs and spend all their money feeding their habit.
The Personal Stuff
-WE GOT SOME ACTUAL CASTLE/ALEXIS CONFLICT GUYS. ;ALSKDJFA;LSKDFJA;SLKDFJASLD REAL, TANGIBLE, TEENAGE CONFLICT WITH TRUST ISSUES AND SHOPLIFTING. I was SO excited. Who wrote this ep? While it seemed a little bit different from the other eps, I really loved it.
-The reason why I thought it was weird was because Alexis lied. What? And then Castle tracks her phone. Double what. And then we find out it was Alexis lied because she wanted to fix a wrong her friends did. THAT is very Alexis. But I can forgive all that because we got REAL CONFLICT at home. Breaking a teen's trust is HUGE. I kinda wish they didn't fix the problem so fast and had Alexis distrust her father a little more, but they did address the issue.
-I love that Beckett plays the devil's advocate and is usually on Alexis' side. She's almost like another mom to Alexis in the background. Watching Beckett disapprove of Castle about tracking Alexis and telling him he deserves the crap she's giving him was so heartwarming. It reminded me of LTM actually, with Gillian sometimes stepping in for Cal or reasoning with Cal about Emily. It really made me smile to see that. Of course the difference is Em pretty much knows that Gillian reigns in Cal and Alexis doesn't know of Beckett's influence as much.
-I like that we still get continuation with Martha's acting school when she said she had to go meet the contractor for the studio. I wonder when that'll be open. Maybe at the beginning of the next season? It'll open in summer and we'll hear all about how excited she is to have her first batch of students? I'd really love that.
-Now, to change it up, CASTLE LIED TO BECKETT TO WORM HIS WAY INTO A DATE WITH HER. AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAHAHA I DIED LAUGHING. That was such a date, btw. I don't care what Beckett will say otherwise because that's a date. She's paying, it's paired and it's kinda planned. It's a date. ;)
-I LOVE that they have another thing in common. And now they don't have to go alone to watch "Forbidden Planet" and they can totally spend time with each other outside of the precinct. It's a giant step in their relationship. She's still with Josh, but at least they can now hang out as friends outside of work. They can build on their friendship and make it stronger and deeper. I am ALL for that because when they inevitably get together, it'll be that much better.
-I can also see Castle not being able to keep his cover for long. He'll lean over and say, "Oh, I love this part" and Beckett will get suspicious. Either that, or he'll confess to his lie after they watch a movie and insist on treating her to Remy's to make up for it. She won't hold it against him because she'll have fun and it'll be 20 kinds of cute. Maybe I should just write that fic hahahahahahaha. Of course, I feel like I now have to watch that movie before I can write it lol. (i'm downloading it now hehehe.)
-This is HUGE. Okay, not as huge as say, Cal admitting to Emily that he loves Gillian, but if Castle ever did his own version of that with Alexis and/or Martha, I may have a heartattack. He basically did when he admitted that it wasn't about the books anymore, but still. They can hang out outside of work! They can be friends on top of partners! They can go out and have fun even if she's taken. Of course this seems to lead to the inevitable conclusion that Josh and Beckett will break up. I'm almost positive they will by season's end. This is one break up that'll happen on Ausiello's list. (If there are spoilers that prove otherwise, please don't tell me. I've already gotten accidentally spoiled on castlebeckett and I really don't like being spoiled for this show.)
A;SDKFJA;LSDKFJALS;DKFJASL;DK GUYS, I SHIP THESE TWO SO HARD. SO HARD. THEY MAKE ME BELIEVE AGAIN. BELIEVE THAT TV COUPLES CAN MAKE IT. it's fiction, i know, but i like knowing my investment actually means something okay. sue me.
I gotta get on that Fringe recap. Gosh, I'm so slow. And these fics. I think I will try that Castle one just because I haven't posted anything since December. Way too long to go without posting a completed fic.
