Um. Can I just say that I'm glad Castle wasn't new tonight? Because I wouldn't have paid attention at all. I barely paid attention to Chicago Code right after House. I honestly could not tell you what happened other than... actually, I have no clue. So thank you, ABC, for not putting a brand new Castle ep on tonight because it would've been a shame

I think at some point, we all expect the breakup to happen. My issue here, as with most people, I believe, is that it wasn't written well. I loved your explanation for it, that the reason Cuddy broke up with him was because she enabled him--and yes, that would've been a good arc they could've explored. But they didn't. In the episode, she broke up with him because for her, taking the Vicodin was akin to House thinking about himself and choosing himself instead of her. A reason I can't even begin to fathom because he did come. He was late, he was stoned, but he did. It's screwed up, it's not right, but it was a start. And what I can't buy is Cuddy leaving him because of this when both of them have already been through much, much more

I think they could still deal with the enabling issue. I'm not sure if you saw the promo, but I think she tells Wilson something along the lines of that she can't fix the problem because she IS the problem. Idk, in my weirdly tired brain, I still think that could work. It'll just be addressed now that they're not together. I'm willing to see how this plays out first before I really start hating on it because I feel like so much of this hangs on just how exactly House handles all of this
