Originally uploaded by crume. I'm not sure what to think of this: My Book List is only 34 books long, but my Movie List is over 190 films long.
Albeit, I haven't spent nearly as much time on the book list as the movie list, I also am much more selective about my book list. The books there must be books I will and want to read. The movie list is more of a suggestion guide.
What am I missing?
There are somethings that I adore about the desert. One of them is the sky that stretches from horizon to horizon. When the storms come, or if it is a very clear day or even in the dead of night, in the middle of nowhere, the sky is overwhelming. Its sheer size is daunting and the beauty of the landscape is tremendous. I speak ill of Phoenix a bit too much, but the landscape is incredible.
South Africa has a somewhat similar landscape, although it varies much more than Arizona's, even though it is only four times the size of this state. It's Great Karoo is much like our high deserts -- no large trees and near infinite views. Mountains seeming to hold up the horizon.
