Oh, villains...
After seeing Beauty and the Beast at the Walnut, I decided to research it a bit.
I find it extremely amusing that in the original animated movie it is revealed, albeit subtly, that Gaston is the man who killed Bambi's mother. She can be seen drinking at the water during the movie's opening sequence (a duplication of her last scene in Bambi), and her head is later hanging on the wall.
It adds so much more to his villainy.
