Some things that have happened since I got back from Thanksgiving break:

- i gave my last lecture for FSHN 120. It was an EC lecture on Breastfeeding. It was spectacular. I did better than I could have imagined. I got a lot of positive comments after it was over and some REAL questions regarding the topic, not just "so if a woman has breast implants, can she still feed?"...

I like being able to get these kids to really think and ask questions about what they are curious about.  I feel this sense of accomplishment when I get questions that actually pertain to what i have taught and not just about grading procedures.

I like TAing this class alot. The students can be a pain sometimes, mostly when it comes to grades, but getting to interact with non-majors and getting them interested in nutrition is great. I have really enjoyed my time with this class. I will not be TAing this class next semester, or prob any semester after that (because of the teacher.... unfortunately).

I have alot of class next semester. I am taking a full load of 500 level class work.  ew.

- Everything with the abstract turned out ok. Just ok. Another student involved in the proj, made things harder than they had to (per usual....she is always a thorn in my side) and dragged the entire process out.

- We had a X-mas party at PAR and it went really well. We did a gift exchange and I got this really cute purse :)

- I booked my plans for NYE. I will be in Chicago at the Hyatt for this bash that they are holding. Some radio station is hosting it...idk.  I thought i had found my dress too, but it looked completely awful, so now I am going to keep looking.

- I have been feeling pretty down lately. I think it was a combo of stress, lack of sleep, and inability to concentrate/function because of the combo of the 2. I also didnt have heat in my apt for about 2.5 weeks. it was 40 degrees at night and, if I was lucky, it reached the low 60 during the day. Matts parents came down to surprise him for his b-day and ending up helping me insulate my windows so that whatever heat I did have didnt escape. Its working. Its now a toasty 65 in my apt at all times. Very comfortable. i didnt realize how taxing it is on the body to constantly have to fight for warmth. I would bundle myself up and sleep with 3 layers and a hat on along with my fleece blanket and down comforter. Once I started to get sick, I slept at Matts, in his twin bed, with him in it. I love sleeping with him, but not when its imperative to get as much sleep as possible in such a short period of time. When you are used to sleeping alone, then you sleep next to someone who moves every 30 seconds in a very small space, its annoying.  Eventually, I went to the frozen-tundra of my apt to sleep, so that I could actually get some.
Taking showers was torture.  I would have to leave my space heater in my bathroom for a good 30 min before I would go in there to shower so that I wouldnt suffer from hypothermia when I exited. Lots of planning ahead....

-Matt's b-day is this thursday. The big 2-4.We are going out to dinner (wherever he chooses). Friday we are going out for drinks with whoever wants to come.

My goal this week is to make it through without talking to my advisor. I have nothing new to show her...so hopefully i won't have to say that to her in person...its always embarrassing. Other than that, I have to start studying for my final...adn I should prob throw some lab work in there as well.... I hope this is an easy week...

adieu.
