I am going home for Thanksgiving on Thursday morning. I hope to leave nice and early to beat any kind of traffic. I haven't been home since August. It will be nice to see my family again. On of my favorite cousins is going to be joining us for dinner that night because he can't make it back to Michigan. I'm excited to see him. Its been almost 2 years since i saw him last...
I am in lab right now...working on lab work for an abstract that I have to submit on Wed. I'm so glad that this semester is almost over. It has been draining. Last week alone, I had to 2 presentations, 2 projects, an exam, and Teaching College graduation. Everything was clustered into Wed, Thurs, and Friday. I made it through. I have one proj due on Dec 1 and this abstract due on wed. My goal is to finish everything by Wed, so I can actually enjoy my 'break'.
I have 12 min left until my samples are finished incubating. Then I will hopefully only be here another hour.
This December will mark:
-the 1.5 year mark of being in grad school
-the 3 year mark of myself and Matt
-the 6.5 year mark of me being in college
-the 24.5 year mark of my being alive.
I am going to start training again for another 1/2 marathon. Illinois is having there first 1/2 and full marathon in April. I want to run it (and so does Brooke)...which is good because we keep each other motivated.
I have to work break housing at the dorms for the next three days. I purposefully took the later shifts so that I can grade projects and work on my own project. If i work during the day i have too many requests to fill and too many people breathing down my neck. I am at the point where i don't care about that place anymore. Im getting more and more comfortable with the fact that this is my last year working there. It kind of bothered me at first..almost like I felt like I was letting people down...when in fact, most people prob want me gone...so they can either have my job or so i can focus on my research more. I will miss some things about PAR. mostly Erin and her kids... thats pretty much it.
Alright, my timer is going off. Back to the lab...
