Well, I Guess They *CAN* Expire!

This morning, we were seeing my brother-in-law and his family off at Union Station, and Meg noticed a copy of Popular Photography on the newsstand and asked us to buy it for her. As I was paying for it, I noticed that it was last month's issue, and had a notation on the cover to "Display until 4/17/17". I thought it was odd that they didn't have the new one, but it's not like the information in a photography magazine becomes outdated when the next magazine shows up on the newsstand.

As we were on our way home, Meg pulled out a subscription card and asked if we would get it for her. Since we want to encourage her interest in photography, we immediately said yes, and when I got home, I noticed a line on the card that said, "For faster service [follow this link]" Since doing it online would be faster and easier, I followed the link and was surprised to have the website tell me, "We are sorry. This promotion has ended." I hadn't ever run into a subscription offer that expired so quickly. It also said, "Please visit our online store for our latest subscription offers." So I looked for an updated offer and found out that last month's issue was their last issue. Which explains both the expired subscription offer and the old issue on the newsstand.
