The premise is the traps lure the beetles with a floral scent and the insect's own pheromone (sex attractant). Intoxicated by the aroma, they are supposed to smash into a piece of yellow plastic, then fall into a bag. The only problem is that its like an invitation to all the beetles in the neighborhood. And they usually preferred the rasberry patch to suffocating in a plastic bag!
