Jen is a buzzkiller.

In my line of work, I get constantly propositioned not only for sex acts but also for extreme sex acts. With my particularly over-analytical state of mind, this can either be pretty hilarious or highly disturbing. In the back of my mind, I'm silently wondering if these fantasies are borne out of genuine desire or if they're conditionings projected ( Read more... )

hello, hello :) thanks for friending me. if you don't mind my asking, why did you? i added you back because i've read this fucking awesome post and others of yours, and although sometimes i don't get your sarcastic/caustic humour, you're definitely 1) a great writer 2) in possession of good politics and 3) cool. I've had trouble with trolls, but can see that I'll not have to worry about that with you :D

I found you in some commmunity, I don't exactly keep track though and you're a member of so many that it's hard to pinpoint. I just remember heavily aligning with your philosophies and enjoying your articles. It's someone that I wanted to stick around instead of me continously having to search for them, I wanted you readily accessible.

Why did you get banned from those mentioned in your profile?

Hmmm...I'm wondering too. I was (until recently) active in a lot of comms, and have kinda backed down because of the crap i've gotten from it ( ... )

I read all of that, it's pretty disconcerting how the backwards momentum of complicated language constraints muddies up the argument and removes the central focus out of question. I understand *why* people, for example, use words like "hir", but I think it's not progressive to assume that that's the first step we need to make changes. Yes, language is integral to changing (or diluting) our inner perspectives, but the so-called movement hasn't progressed to the point where the average person would even begin to comprehend it. They would just think "what a fucking retard" and dismiss the rest of the argument ( ... )

Also, "Feminist Misogyny" as my livejournal title was something I did years ago when I was still straddling both philosophies and couldn't find my footing in which aspect I agreed with. It wasn't meant to suggest anything deeper than my love of paradox. Once I did heavier research (and personal reflections on my own history) and realized that gender was primarily a mentally and spiritually stifling social construct, I settled for a more rewarding perspective. However, I still left the journal title to confuse idiots.

I'll expand more on the prostitution aspect once I get a response, I don't want to overload you with Jenisms in one sitting.

As for the song, I'm familiar with the lyrics, I've just never heard the actual song. I'll download it to Ares.

I know, eh. "You're against us!!!!!! Evil!! Ban her!!!" So much for open, safe online communities. I do agree with gender neutral language, or what I do is use the wrong pronouns for "cisgender" folk (e.g. call a man a she is casual conversation) because I forget to be gender neutral. But it is just fucked up to talk about porn, rape, child sexual abuse, etc in gender neutral terms (because it fucking ain't). But yeah, we're not far enough to hav most folk recognize gender nuetrual language--people don't even get things like "humankind" or "he or she" yet ( ... )
