I was watching the Dir en grey Tour 05 It Withers and Withers DVD last night and noticed something different with it. No, not the fact the singer was singing in mostly Japanese, but the female to male crowd ratio. While all the other concerts have been either equal or it has been mostly a male crowd, it was interesting to hear the songs sang by the female crowd. Kind of high pitched... something. I meant, why can't there be this much female fans for say... Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Sepultura, and so on? My guess is that since Dir en grey was in that Visual Kei movement that it gained a lot of female fans that way, but they, the band, dropped the Visual Kei look around late 2004 to early 2005. For those who do not know what Visual Kei is... it's something like the American glam rock or shock rock from the 70s and 80s. Yeah, that same shock rock that Alice Cooper pioneered. Well, mostly the shock rock side.
