Back from the beach!

It is SUCH a beautiful day today!! Nice and warm, no clouds in the sky, a nice gentle breeze.

I took Reo down to the beach. The water was SO inviting - since it is low tide, the water between the shore and the sandbar is relatively warm. I just wanted to jump right in!! (Not about to do that with my camera in my pocket, though.)

I didn't see my bird. Nor did I see any sharks' teeth. I did watch the brown pelicans for a while. They were out in full force today! There were about ten of them out over the ocean, diving into the sea and then flapping back up into the air, soaring along the waves, and just being the beautiful birds that they are. :D

Also, as a change of pace, instead of just walking the beach, I decided to run a little bit. I am not an experienced runner by any means, nor can my legs handle it, but I wouldn't mind running on my days off, or in the mornings or evenings during the summer. So I figured I might as well start doing a little bit now. Small spurts of running, accompanied by DDR in the evenings, should get me back up to speed and strengthen my legs again. So, I walked down to where the beach evens out a little better (near us it's pretty sloped, but a short walk north brings me to a place where the beach flattens out) and I ran for about a minute, walked for about two or three, then ran again, then walked again, then turned around, ran a little bit more, and walked the rest of the way back. Reo seemed to enjoy it, but both he and I came home and chugged some water. :P

When my legs get strong enough, and the ocean gets warmer, I want to do more swimming. Maybe even get a couple of body boards for Joe and I. Eventually I'd love to learn how to surf, but I'm afraid my legs aren't strong enough, nor my balance good enough, to do so just yet. (Not to mention I also have NO upper body strength.)

I think this is part of the reason why Florida is so good for me. With as beautiful as it is, I love being outside and being active. I hate that I have to work so often, but at least the days off (and the longer evenings in the summertime) make up for it.

Anyhow, back to cleaning, then arts tonight. :)
