The last time in which I updated this journal was December 21, 2004. I apologize for it being so long. Anywho, I will do my best to update you on what has happened since then.
Semester break came and went. It was rather interesting. I played a great deal of poker over break and I played really well. I ended up winning like between $60-80 total throughout break. Honestly, for me that is pretty damn good. I was pleased with the way I played, and I guess the "horrible poker skills" (according to Jared) that I had I left at MTU. Oh well.
As with my grades first semester, let me just say that they could have been better. I guess the transition from high school to college got in the way a little bit. It took me a while to adjust to how college classes were ... the pace ... what the professors expected ... everything that college has to offer. Managing your time is a very important, and now I see why!
Christmas came and went. I got some cool things, clothes, 8 hours of the Three Stooges on DVD, some new snowblades, a couple other DVDs. I was pleased. A few days after I got a wireless keyboard and mouse to take up to school ... excellent investment! I was glad that I got to see some family that I haven't seen in a while. I have a cousin who moved to Baltimore whom I haven't seen since June or somewhere around there and it was pleasing to see her again.
On New Year's Eve, I was sitting on my computer and got a phone call. This is how the conversation went:
Bub - "Hey Chris, do you want to do me a huge favor?"
Me - "What's that?"
Bub - "Do you want to play bass with me tonight?"
Me - "Do you have a bass I can use, because I left mine at school?"
Bub - "No I don't."
Me - "Well, I will call Nick Bujuoves and see if I can borrow his."
Bub - "Okay sweet."
Well, I called Sir Nicholas Bujuoves, and he let me borrow his bass. I then picked it up and went over to Joe Luplow's house to practice, and then I was ready to play. Yep, I got to play a show with my friend's band on New Year's Eve. It was awesome, given the fact that I learned the songs the day of. I think I did pretty well, I messed up a few times, but it was expected. I loved playing with them, it was awesome.
The drive back up to school was not all that bad. I encountered now falling snow the whole drive, which was awesome. All together the trip took me a little over 8 hours. Not too shabby.
Since I've been back up at school:
I'm rooming with Mark now instead of Jason. He took a co-op job in Midland so I have a friend rooming with me now. He's a cool guy and we get along really well. The weather up here has been SOOOO COLD. You guys think it's cold where you are, but try having the temperature -7 with a wind chill of -30. It's really cold. It has been warming up lately (compared to the last week). It is supposed to get up to 15 tomorrow (WARM!!!) and next Tuesday it is supposed to be 28. That's so awesome!! The snow sculptures have started to take shape, and some of them are pretty damn sweet. I cannot wait until they are finished, it's going to be beautiful.
Anywho, it has snowed all but one day since I've been back up here. That's okay, just as long as it isn't TOO cold.
I am going home on Saturday and returning Tuesday at the latest due to dental appointments.
Found out I made $31 in long distance phone calls on my phone last month. Whoops!
That's about it for now.
Good day all.
