Why must some of the most interesting people not be of my age group?

Yeah so tonight was rather fun. Today in itself was a rather enjoyable day. Let me explain:

Woke up around 11, ate breakfast and then headed over to my grandmother's house to finish cleaning it out because the closing is tomorrow.

After I was done with that I ventured over to Best Buy and picked up some DVDs. I got Eurotrip, Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, Bruce Almighty, and Gladiator for $52 and some change. Each DVD was 10 bucks! What a damn bargain. When I returned from that I threw in Eurotrip. Good movie I must say. I ate dinner, cleaned up the dishes, then just chatted with some people and listend to music.

Out of the middle of nowhere Mr. Brandt Snook himself IMs me and asks me if I wanted to play poker and watch the Monday Night Football game. I was immediately down, so I headed over there. It was me, Jeff West, Brandt Snook, Matt Bentley, Andrew ____, Pete Wilsey, BJ Hancock, and Matt Lechel. I was the youngest one there (which is expected when I hang out with all of them) and holy shit did I still feel like one of the guys. The last time I was in the same room with all of them had to be about a year ago over at BJ's house ... oddly enough ... playing poker. It was good to get to see all of them. In high school I wasn't really friends with them, or know who they were for that matter. It seems as if as they graudated I got to know them and spend more time with them. When I hang out with them sometimes I find myself upset that I did not graduate with them and grow up with them because they are a damn good bunch of guys. Petey and Matt Bentley I have known for ages, so it is always nice to get to see them again.

Brian Lechel is just like his brother Matt in so many ways. I've spent a lot of time with Brian in school and sometimes outside of school; we're really good friends. And then when I hang out with Matt for a few days, I start to notice how alike they are. They almost do the same things and play poker almost the same way. Tonight I heard Matt say (talking about poker) "If we're playing a draw game I don't care if the ante is 2 bucks, I'm still going to play it." Brian would say the exact same thing. They both play poker really aggressive, and they play almost similar at the talbe. Either way, they are both fun to be around.

After the poker extravaganza, we (me, Pete, Brandt, West, and Lechel) headed over to the Texan to get our eat on. Spending that time with them pretty much solidified how cool of people they are. Even though I am upwards of 3 years younger than they are, it seems as if they don't care. They make me feel like one of the guys, and it's awesome.

They're a good buncha guys.

I've been obsessed with "The First Single" by The Format. Such a good song ... lyrics below.

I'm neglecting to leave something out of this post that some of you may know about, because the status of it is unknown at this point, but I suspect that it will be straightened out in the near future. Just ask me, or I'm sure you might find out from other people.

Good day all!

"The First Single" by The Format

i can't stand to think about
a heart so big it hurts like hell
oh my god i gave my best
but for three whole years to end like this.

well do you want to fall apart
i can't stop if you can't start
do you want to fall apart
i could if you can try
to fix what i've undone
cause i hate what i've become.

you know me, oh you think you do
you just don't seem to see
i've been waiting all this time to be,
something i can't define so let's
cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet
something, yeah something
i've just got to get myself over me.

i could stand to do without
all the people i have left behind
what's the point in going around
when it's a straight night baby
a straight line down

so let's make a list of we need
it's not much if anything
let's make a list of who we need
and we'll throw it away cause we
don't need anyone
no we don't need anyone

you know me, oh you think you do
you just don't seem to see
i've been waiting all this time to be,
something i can't define so let's
cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet
something, yeah something
i've just got to get myself over me.

and i hate what i've become

you know the night life is just not for me
cause all you really need are a few good friends
i don't want to go out and be on my own
you know they started something i can't stand
you leave for the city
well count me out
cause all this time is wasted on
everything i've done

you know me, oh you think you do
you just don't seem to see
i've been waiting all this time to be,
something i can't define so let's
cause a scene, clap our hands and stomp our feet
something, yeah something
i've just got to get myself over me.
