a crappy poem

Just a thing I wrote that's actually a song. I'll add the music eventually. The year-end just always makes me take a time to think about what it has brought to me and what it has not.

PARADIGM SHIFT

Please

Don’t let me go

Into that cold night

Let me stay right here

Breathing in your light

The night

is full of glowing eyes

They want to watch me fall down the snow

and slice me with their knives

Don’t let me go.

I

promise I’ll be quiet

just sitting by your side

I won’t dare to move

not to ruin your precious solitude

Just let me stay.

I’ll be a good girl, diligent and sane

I’ll lead a good life, marry a good man

I’ll do my homeworks and won’t stay up late

I’ll live my empty days

No love no hate

You’ll spend your days reading old poetry

Lecturing on love, obsession and bigotry

Then you’ll come home and open a bottle

Watching your hands cover with mottles

Is that what you’ve wanted?

To follow the pattern

You’d told me once

Patterns are fetters

Paradigm shift

That’s what we’re heading for

Old year is breaking

Watch out for shatters

See

I get it all

But there is still this night

before I leave

and you let me fall

Don’t let me go.
