Supernatural Ep 3-13, "Ghostfacers"

If you haven't seen the episode yet, don't look.

I say this episode was all win. It mixed the humor and the scary and the poignant/sad perfectly. So much better then "Mystery Spot", which tried to do the same thing but didn't do it as well. (That one brought the funny and then lost its momentum.) I also found this episode quite scary, but then, maybe I am as easy to scare as I am to make cry. (I cry at nearly everything even a little sad. Including heart-warming commercials.)

I cried at the Corbett scene at the end, and Ed's speech. That was a nice moment, and I liked how no matter how much Dean and Sam tried to be in control, it's really Ed and Corbett that saved everyone. Still, watching Ed and Harry in the tuxes at the end, knowing what happened to Corbett, I got a little angry at them. I couldn't tell if their little "thank you" to Corbett was heartfelt in their own mercenary way or just horrible. Then the shot they showed of him packing in the van, talking about his dreams, I teared up again. And then there they are, drinking beer and being pretentious again. I get that you move on, and I don't know how long it took them to edit the episode, but damn. I don't know what to think. But that I attribute to the characters, not a problem with the writing. I liked the writing a lot in this episode, and I liked the camera work. It mimicked those kinds of ghost hunting shows really really well.

My all time favorite scene (and there were several): Ed and Harry pretending to walk slow-mo for the camera -- while the rest of the world moves at normal speed behind them. How can anyone be that ridiculous and be alive?
