I think they are. I definitely recommend them. They're wildly popular and have a cool setting (New York, with a magical underground few normal people know about) and addictive characters. Plot has a lot of angsty romance and demon-killing action in equal amounts, so it has something for everybody. The books look really long but they don't feel like it, or at least not to me. I might end up buying all three of them sooner or later because I'd like to reread them.
