Your boy problems solved

I love magazines. And I'm a sucker for looking at magazines while standing in line at the grocery store. It seems Rachel is too. When she found "Discovery Girls" magazine she was in heaven and I had to buy it for her or listen to her whine about it all night.

Here was a magazine for her, don't worry that it's aimed at girls eight and up. That just means it's even more special, promising to unlock the secrets of bras and music and the age of pre-teenagerdom. (Boys, thank heavens, are still "gross" to her -- other than Shark Boy from Shark Boy and Lava Girl, but I'm not supposed to mention that in public.)

And she loves the magazine. How could you not, with such exciting articles like:

Your Boy Problems Solved
Princess Apparel...for Your Pooch!
Are you a Tech Girl?
Gossip Girls (How to Handle Them)

The magazine isn't all bad. There's a story on a 12-year-old girl who lives in Egypt. There are stories about female athletes, or girls who love science and math.

But I see my future. It's glittery and pink.

magazines, rachel
