Some of my favourite Directors are...
Sofia Coppola (Lost in Translation, etc) because she is so good at catching melancholy
Tim Burton (Nightmare before Christmas, etc) because he hits that dark note so well
Mel Gibson (Braveheart, etc) because he knows how to make an epic story come to life
Cameron Crowe (Almost Famous, etc) because he knows how to tie a story together with music
Wes Anderson (The Royal Tenenbaums, etc) because he brings in the greatest casts
Steven Spielberg (The Terminal, etc) because he is so good at his art
Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Amelie, etc) because he captures colours and the "little things" in his films
Sam Mendes (Road to Perdition, etc) even though his films are dark, they are beautiful and arty
Tom Tykwer (Run Lola Run, etc) his films have great casting and cute/interesting tales
Terrence Malick (The Thin Red Line, etc) what can I say but BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL
Lasse Hallstrom (Chocolat, etc) he has a talent for emotionally dramatic movies
Michael Gondry (Eternal Sunshine, etc) haven't seen much of his stuff but this movie (eternal sunshine of the spotless mind) was so different, I will definitely be on the lookout for any new stuff he puts out
James Mangold (Walk the Line, etc) his films are just well done and often a little melancholy, very real
M. Night Shyamalan (The Village, etc) he picks great stories...he's currently working on Life of Pi (read that book if you haven't already!!!)
