[Sam] Misery loves companystarborn_scribeSeptember 5 2006, 22:12:58 UTC
The cold of the tile floors crept through Sam's socks to his feet. He barely noticed as he stalked down the hallway, dressed in what he'd worn to bed: a hoodie, sweatpants, and a shoulder holster bearing a 9 mm handgun

Aiden jumped when Sam knocked on the door. She wiped the tears from her eyes as she stood up. She took a deep breath and tried to clear her mind as she went to and opened the door.
She opened the door and looked at Sam.
"Yeah I...I'm fine." she lied. "I just..." tears filled her eyes and threatened to topple over the edge at any moment. "I'm a little homesick." a tear broke loose and ran down her cheek and she quickly wiped it away.
"I hope I didn't wake you." she apologized, looking down at the floor.
[Sam] She said I would not understandstarborn_scribeSeptember 6 2006, 12:18:12 UTC
"I'm a little homesick," Aiden said, wiping away a tear.
Sam managed a small smile. "Me, too." Not for the Impala or even seeing Dad again, but for Jess. That home was gone forever, thanks to the demon.
Aiden studied her feet. "I hope I didn't wake you."
Sam chuckled. "Nah. My idiot brother saw to that." He studied the pretty young woman for a moment, unsure what to do. She was standing in the doorway, and he sure as hell wasn't going to invite himself in. "I was heading to the cafeteria," he said finally. "Figure there's something more to drink there than coffee."
[Sam] Cooling offstarborn_scribeSeptember 6 2006, 21:02:52 UTC
Sam couldn't figure out why Aiden's smile surprised him at first. (Oh. 'Cause this is the first I've seen of it.) Aiden was usually so businesslike. It was good to see something other than professional detachment.
"Maybe there's even hot chocolate?"
Sam shrugged. "Only one way to find out." Aiden's smile grew a little wider. She shut the door behind her and fell into step beside Sam. "So, four idiot brothers. Sounds... trying. You all from Brooklyn?"
OOC: How tall is Aiden? I'm only asking because Sam's a freakin' giant: 6'4". Also, Sam's carrying a 9 mm handgun in a shoulder holster. I wasn't sure if Aiden would react to that.
Re: [Aiden] No Place Like Homedet_aiden_burnSeptember 6 2006, 21:21:09 UTC
OOC: Aiden's 5' 6". My God Sam is tall! And the gun doesn't bother her, she's used to being around ppl packing heat.
IC: Aiden walked down the hallway beside Sam. She'd noticed the gun he carried but dicided against going back for her stun gun. No way to be inconspicious about it. And Sam didn't seem like a threat. Not that she would ever let her guard down anyway. She couldn't help but be a little jealous. Sure Boone's semi-automatic, which she still had and had no plans of giving up without a fight, was useful and could do a lot of damage. But it was cumbersome.
"All but one. Jimmy was adopted. He's the only one without an accent. What about you? Where do you and your brother come from?
[Sam] Home? What's that?starborn_scribeSeptember 6 2006, 21:41:07 UTC
Sam's face fell for a moment, but he recovered quickly. "Kansas, originally. Most recently, Forest Hills."
Aiden nodded at the mention of the New York City neighborhood. "Why'd you move to Queens?"
"Dean and I were there on business," Sam explained with an ironic smile. "We were in town for less than an hour before bumping into May and getting dumped here."
They'd reached the cafeteria. The smell of slightly burnt coffee wafted from the open door. "Think anyone else is up?" Sam asked as he and Aiden strode inside.
Re: [Aiden] Only slightly jadeddet_aiden_burnSeptember 6 2006, 21:50:05 UTC
"Probably but I'd be surprised if it wasn't one of the doctors." she smiled slightly at his 'Why?' look. "The coffee. Most people'd make a fresh pot. Doctors drink whatever's there."
[Sam] Way, way jadedstarborn_scribeSeptember 6 2006, 22:33:30 UTC
Sam chuckled. "You haven't heard how Dean, May, and I got here, have you?" Aiden shook her head. Sam hesitated for a moment, then shrugged. She'd hear about it sooner or later. "Dean and I are hunters. Demon, ghost, things that go bump in the night hunters. That's why we were in Forest Hills. The demon we were hunting sent us here magically. May got caught in the crossfire." He met her eyes and waited for her reaction.
Re: [Sam] Who me ;)det_aiden_burnSeptember 6 2006, 22:49:27 UTC
"Oh." Aiden's breath let out in a whoosh, quite loud in the quiet. Demons, ghosts...she didn't want to believe. Desperately didn't want to. Violent humans were quite enough in her opinion, didn't like there being more added to the pot. She ran her hand across the bandage on her arm. Aliens with acidic blood, aliens that could throw people across the room. Dammit this was all real. Reality bites.
"Sounds like it sucks to be you." she said. Her mind still processing everything. She sighed.
"I thought I met a vampire once, but I was hoping I was just scared. That it was my imagination." she chuckled at the insanity of in all. She rested her elbows on the table and held her face in her hands.
"Oh God this is insane." she said looking up at Sam. "All my life I spent trying to rationalizing things with science, fix things with science. But it doesn't matter does it? How can it when I've landed in the freaking Twilight Zone."
[Sam] The rulesstarborn_scribeSeptember 7 2006, 01:29:26 UTC
Aiden looked downright overwhelmed. Sam felt kind of bad for being so blunt.
"Sounds like it sucks to be you," she said absently.
(No longer feeling bad,) Sam thought, frowning.
Aiden wrestled with his pronouncement that not all was right in the world for a while longer. "All my life I spent trying to rationalizing things with science, fix things with science. But it doesn't matter does it? How can it when I've landed in the freaking Twilight Zone."
"It does," Sam insisted. "There are still rules. They may not make sense from a scientific point of view, but even monsters and magic follow rules. That's how Dad, Dean, and I can kill these things, or at least send them back to where they came from. Study them, their habits, their motives. Identify their weaknesses and exploit them."
Re: [Aiden] Tell me teach medet_aiden_burnSeptember 7 2006, 03:07:11 UTC
Aiden nodded. Thoughts going through her head she got up from the table and rifled through the cabinents. Is that what you did Marty? Is that what you wouldn't tell me? she wasn't sure if the anwser to the question would change what had happened in the past but it made her wonder.
[Daisy] The rules for whom?sinanjuSeptember 7 2006, 03:32:41 UTC
"The rules for whom?" Daisy asked from the doorway. "The humans or the monsters?"
She'd had enough of lying around in bed resting and occasionally crying, sometimes when she was alone, sometimes while John held her. She wasn't hurt physically, and--dammit--she wasn't going to let those assholes leave her feeling traumatized any longer. After all, who was terrorizing who by the time the cavalry appeared?
Daisy walked into the kitchen and went for the coffee pot. She'd wanted to get out of the room, but the smell of coffee drifting from the kitchen had decided her destination.
Speaking as she poured herself a cup of coffe, Daisy said "Because, speaking as one of the things that goes bump in the night, the rules are stay out of sight, do your job, don't make waves."
Then she turned and leaned against the counter and studied the two strangers. "I'm Daisy. Daisy Adair. Who might you be?"
Re: [Daisy] I'm still praying it's the bump on the headdet_aiden_burnSeptember 7 2006, 03:41:41 UTC
"One of those things? So you're a..." she left the question open and suddenly wished for a Valium.
Daisy introduced herself and the name clicked in Aiden's mind. One of the victims. She had wanted the chance to talk to them, now she wasn't so sure it mattered anymore. Who was there to prosecute if they never got home? Then again, if she was going to interrogate the prisoners, and God knew she wanted to, it would help knowing what exactly went down. She'd see. There was no rush tonight.
"I'm Aiden Burn. Nice to meet you Daisy." She felt pity for Daisy, understood and sympathized with what she'd gone through.
Re: [Aiden] Armani and the sycthe huh?det_aiden_burnSeptember 7 2006, 04:10:24 UTC
"A what? Please don't tell me that means what I think it means." she said.
Aiden gestured for Daisy to take a seat at the table and Aiden took one across from her. She'd lost out on the hot chocolate search. Though that wasn't what she was thinking of at the moment.

"I can understand that. I have four idiot brothers of my own."
Aiden looked out into the darkened hallway and considered the darkened room behind her.
"Maybe there's even hot chocolate?" she questioned aloud, not quite inviting herself along.
