I've actually been using the word "magick" long before I started writing fanfic. It's the RPG influence on me. Let's blame them. Hehe.
And regarding what the "writing coach" (I'm certain this is osmalic you're talking about) said, yes that is true. That's why to truly write a good fanfic, the writer must go through all the episodes again to analyze the characters' characteristics. It's a pain in the arse, but in order to produce a really good fic, one has to do it. Remember what I told you (I hope you do)? It took me ten-- TEN freaking years before I wrote my first Magic Knight Rayearth fic about Lantis (genre: character study).
Don't worry about the difference of our style of writing! We can compromise and that's what beta readers are for!
Ah! Kelangan natin ng mga nicknames for our beloved beta readers (since they don't have LJ accounts). We can call our Lit major friend, Bb. Alindog and our snake-coffin thesis person, Oriol if it's okay with them. Hehe. We can change the names; what ever they want/like.
