AAUW Book Sale 8/9/2024

Aug 09, 2024 15:50

It is 3:22 PM Friday afternoon here in south western Michigan. It is in the low 70's today and sunny this afternoon. I am recovering from going to a AAUW used books sale in South Haven and afterwards we visited a childhood friend of Carol's that lives out in that area/rural area. After Carol and I visited this old girlfriend's of Carol's we headed back to Holland. We came home before going out for lunch because Carol had a coupon for 50% off at place we general eat at when we go out for lunch/save $8.00 dollars. So got the coupon and left to go out for lunch. We had lunch and then we stopped at Salvation Army thrift store so I could look at their used books. I bought one used book and then we came home. Carol left to get her car washed and then go downtown to a sidewalk sale. I am here wasted and waiting to end this long day. We left this morning for South Haven around 8 o'clock AM. We paid to get in early so we were out the door headed to her friend's place by 9:50 AM. I won't go into all that we did or said but just list the used books I bought today/always more used books to ADD to our book collection (Carol mainly bought children's books for grandkid's which I won't list)-

'The Last Of The Mohicans' a novel by James Fenimore Cooper Illustrated by N.C. Wyeth

'The Collected Stories of Mavis Gallant' a very large hardback (I collect the writings of Mavis Gallant)

'Lincoln's Sword: The Presidency And The Power Of Words' by Douglas L. Wilson (I bought this used book for my Abraham Lincoln collection)
