Turkeys make good pets, apparently.

So yesterday a large turkey was dropped off on the farm from Animal Control cause they found it somewhere. Upon hearing about the bird which weighs somewhere close to 50 pounds, I began to concieve thoughts of quiting my appetite. I had dreams of delicious turkey dancing in my stomach last night in preparing for today in which I would get to see my potential meal. So 6:30 comes and I get ready for work. At 7 AM I arrive. After given my tasks for the day and inquired where the turkey was. Upon recieving information of it's exact location, I checked it out.

There he was.

50 pounds of pure delicious meat staring at me from inside his temporary pen area. My curiosity got the best of me...I had to further investigate....

I WENT INSIDE THE PEN. This was probably not a good idea when I think about it because turkeys are pretty big, and can pack a whallop. I was a bit nervous when the turkey approached me...what were his intentions....would I need to fend off this huge chunk of poultry??....I wasn't sure.

HE STOPPED AT MY FEET. I greeted the turkey by saying, "I am going to eat you." The turkey looked up at me with it's turkey eyes....

And then I fell in love with the turkey. I sat in there for awhile petting the turkey who was very receptive of attention. When I asked my boss about the turkey he told me it's probably someone's pet and that's why he's so friendly. I immediately cast aside futher intentions of eating my new friend and resumed the day, stopping every now and then to visit him. I'm not sure what I'm going to name him, though. On the farm I usually name animals just what they are and sometimes I add little Mr's, Mrs's or y's at the end. Right now he is Mr.Turkey. And noone is going to fucking eat him. :)
