24 Hours of Happy (5AM)
In order to recover from the 4AM, I decided to jump straight into the 5AM segment.
This was a lot more solid. Mostly, the 5AM segment benefited from several things. First, it had a general theme that most of the previous hours were lacking. In this case, morning run and morning walk. While it looked like Pharrell Williams was up in the hills of LA, far from the city, with a female companion, the majority of the people were regular runners (and one hilarious old park custodian who can MOVE!). The minions make a second cameo solo, although I felt they were better used during the 3AM theater run with Williams.
Magic Johnson made a second celebrity video, showing off his amazing house and trophy room. The guy is living just fine.
The video ended with another pet that was, as always, picked up and danced with, and a few folks walking the neighborhoods of upper-class California. While some of the running might have been repetitive, it felt more like a workout video, so it didn't get boring. And after the terror that was the neverending convertible of 4AM, it was just nice to see some sunshine and energy in the video.
Man I wish I could live in those California neighborhoods.
