hehe. ok so, actually: Feral (adj) Having returned to the wild after domestication

Rock Doves breed natively in the Rocky Shores of Europe and North Africa, as they have for centuries, and have an incredible ability to find their way home over very long distances. The birds were caught and tamed in Europe to be used as messenger birds, and selectively bred into a Domestic Rock Dove breed, in a breeding tradition continuing to this day. The familiar "rats with wings" you see on the streets of nearly every city in the world are the decedents of escaped Domestic Rock Doves, ie, Feral Domestic Rock Doves, colloquially called Pigeons. The bird is often called a Feral Pigeon by ornithologists, since the species frequently interbreeds and inbreeds with other species of Pigeon, and is the only ubiquitously feral bird in the Pigeon (Dove) family.
