The trip

Wellllll....a few entries ago I mentioned that we will probably be going to Oregon in October. We will be going if everything works out:
~no snow/no bad weather
~we have enough money
~my bf's parents have enough money
~His parents still wanna go

If everything works out then I'll be able to go see the ocean for the first time! I'm really excited about that. I've lived here my whole life and I've only been to a few different places. Arizona, South Dakota, and Wyoming (and the states we passed through on the way there). Wow exciting right. So, this will be fun! I know this vacation isn't supposed to be about us but I want to take full advantage of this. I have been researching things for this trip already! We will be renting a vehicle and driving out there together (hopefully we will get an SUV so we'll have a little space). The drive will probably take about 2 days. Then we will be staying for about 4 or 5 days and siteseeing etc. Then we will be driving back which takes another 2 days. We will be driving the U-haul back with all their stuff in it.

I have so much stuff that I want to do while out there. My goals/wants for this trip:
~see the ocean (hopefully watch the sunset over the ocean)
~play on the beach, make a sandcastle on the beach, find seashells
~go whale watching (even though I don't think we have a good chance of seeing anything)
~go on a horseback ride on the beach
~see a lighthouse
~go to the Redwood forest (it's in California but we are going to try to detour through Cali on our way back)
~go to the sealion caves
~tour a wine vineyard
~see crater lake
~see Multnomah Falls (620 foot waterfall)
~go through the safari drive through zoo
~go shopping/buy stuff for the family

I'm not saying we are going to do all this but I'm just trying to get an idea of what there is to do there and how much everything will cost us. My main goal is to play on the beach next to the ocean. I will be taking a lot of pictures and videos (I'm even buying a new camera/camcorder). I took out a student living expenses loan to help pay for the trip. It's a graduation present to myself (since I graduate October 4th and we are going October 9th).

Soooo that is what's up with this trip. More details to come as I get them! :)
