I got hit by a cold this weekend so I've been laying low for the most part. I bought a new game at Big Lots that was only $5 when it's normally $20 in the regular stores. It's one of the expansion packs to F.E.A.R. and it's pretty good so far. I got Fear 2 but it's too advanced for my video card to display it smoothly and properly. When we sell the house we'll be able to upgrade all the things that we want like the computers, our furniture and bedroom set. We were looking at all the really nice furniture they have now at Big Lots, trying to pick out what would be nice in a new place whenever we get there.
This month of September is going to be a busy one with getting the house ready for selling. We don't have a whole lot to do but when you look at it at first it always seems to be more than it really is. And it sucks that I'm back in the Bay department at work because that means coming home late, usually worn out. But I'll have the entire weekend off every week so it will allow for some good progress to be made. The main things we have to target are getting the living room, kitchen and spare bedroom repainted, cleaning out from under the deck because Don left a bunch of crap under there and filling in some holes in the backyard that were created due to moles, the builder burying some stumps and logs and rain water draining through that area. As a result of those holes being left open some bees have decided to take up residence there and I got the crap stung out of me today while mowing. That's pretty much it.
Once the fixing up is done we just have to stage the house which means pre-packing alot of personal stuff like photos and nic-nacs, leaving just a few decorations out to dress up the place but not overcrowd it. Simplicity is the name of the game when selling a house. Then we talk with our realtor and get the ball rolling. Two houses have sold right down the road in the past week so we're confident we'll be able to sell ours with no problems.
I took today off from work to have an extra day of semi-rest to recoup from my cold. It's cleared out of my sinuses and has moved into my chest a little but it's going away fast. Earlier this afternoon we went for a drive out towards Adams, the site of the famous Bell Witch. We were going to check out a state park around there but come to find out it was closed. We ran into one of the workers who was mowing the lawn and I asked him where some of the park sites were and he just looked at me with the blank stare that befits most local yocals. It took him forever to even begin to give us any straight answers but he finally told us that it was closed for renovations and wouldnt be open until October. He was a strange fellow indeed. So we headed over to the general store where we got some very tasty lunch. Home made fries, a burger and a chicken sandwhich. It was just a greasy spoon hole in the wall but it was very tasty. We'll be going back there again sometime. It's not that far away.
On the way back home we found a produce stand and we picked up some watermellon, black berries and peaches. I cut up the peaches and put them in a bowl of sugar and just got done eating some of them. Very tasty indeed. Tomorrow it's back to work and it should be a beautiful day.
