Ueda Tatsuya was flipping through a magazine that he’d read so many times that it was practically falling apart. There was an article with his favourite actor and current crush in it and he’d read the words so many times that he almost knew them by heart. He supposed that it was a very lame and girly thing to do but to his defence, he’d never bought any other magazine that featured Akanishi Jin. Noises came from the front door of the apartment as someone unlocked it and soon it was opened by Tatsuya’s roommate, Kamenashi Kazuya. The younger man looked excited about something and Tatsuya raised an eyebrow.
“Has something happened?” he asked and Kazuya practically danced to the sofa and sat down on next to Tatsuya.
“There’s an open audition for a part in Jin’s new movie!” Kazuya said excitedly and took Tatsuya’s hands which made the older man drop his magazine. “You should totally go to it!”
“An open audition? For what part?” Tatsuya felt suspicious because it sounded too good to be true.
He’d dreamed of being an actor ever since he was six and his parents took him to the theatre for the first time. Since then he’d changed his dream of becoming a stage actor, to becoming a movie actor.
“Well…” Kazuya smiled sheepishly. “For the female lead.”
“Kame-chan, I am not a girl”, Tatsuya said with a not amused expression on his face.
“But you’re beautiful like one! You know that everyone mistakes you for a girl when they first meet you.”
Tatsuya looked at Kazuya icily, “Yes, thank you for reminding me of such wonderful events.”
“Come on, if you go to the audition you’ll get to meet Jin in real life”, Kazuya pleaded. “It doesn’t matter if you don’t get the part because you’ll still get to see your crush for real, right?”
Tatsuya thought about it for awhile, Kazuya did have a point. He didn’t think that he’d ever have a chance to see Jin in such a close proximity in any other way.
“Okay, I’ll go on one condition”, he said.

The two men walked into the waiting room and nervously tugged on their dresses to conceal more of their legs. The girls were called to the stage and less and less girls were remaining in the waiting room and Tatsuya began to grow really nervous.
“Why did I let you convince me to do this?” Tatsuya glared at Kazuya who patted his shoulder.
“You’re a great actor so just do your best”, Kazuya said encouragingly. “I’m sure that Jin will be very nice so just be yourself but you know, not yourself, and everything will be fine.”
Tatsuya forced a smile and Kazuya smiled cheerfully, not realising that his words hadn’t helped the older man at all. Then suddenly, Tatsuya’s name was called or well, the name he’d told them which was Ueda Tatsuko. He stood up on shaking legs and walked out through the door that led to the stage where Jin and the casting crew were waiting.
Jin stood in the middle of the stage, handsome as ever with ripped jeans, a simple black t-shirt and a black fedora over his long black hair. The casting crew was sitting on the front row and everyone looked at Tatsuya expectantly and Jin smiled warmly at him.

Meanwhile, Kazuya was called to go on stage. He felt quite uncomfortable because he’d never had any acting ambitions and he certainly never thought that he would audition for a part as a girl. “I’m Kamenashi Kazue”, he said in a voice that he hoped was girly even though it was still kind of low and raspy.
He shook Jin’s hand and then it was time to act out the scene that Kazuya had read through several times while sitting in the waiting room.
“You don’t understand”, Jin said full of passion and sorrow. “I love you, Mika.”
Kazuya got so caught up in Jin’s acting that he actually believed what the older man was saying.
“Love isn’t enough”, he said and the mood came to him instinctively. “We can never be together… I’m betrothed to another man and you don’t have any money. My father would never accept our relationship.”

The girls were called to the stage and less and less girls were remaining in the waiting room and Tatsuya began to grow really nervous.

Then suddenly, Tatsuya’s name was called or well, the name he’d told them which was Ueda Tatsuko. He stood up on shaking legs and walked out through the door that led to the stage where Jin and the casting crew were waiting.
Jin stood in the middle of the stage, handsome as ever with ripped jeans, a simple black t-shirt and a black fedora over his long black hair. The casting crew was sitting on the front row and everyone looked at Tatsuya expectantly and Jin smiled warmly at him.
