Outward Bound Day 1:
I first started Outward Bound, and first Kara came to my house at 7:45am and she ate her muffin (big part of the morning.) We came online for a little while so i could say my farewells to Dennis (my boyfriend). Then my dad, kara and I left for the weekend at 8:30ish am. We got there at 9:20 and got lost, so we drove around the pier looking for number 10, we finially asked some random guy in a truck with tattoos for directions, and he had so idea, then i saw a sign. So we followed it. I was terrified, and Kara was being weird. She decided to talk really fast and be weird to get our minds off of everything. Once we got there we saw a couple people from the trip, but we werent possitive, so I asked someone, now I know who it was, which was Andrew, and Mary. This girl Jill came along, and introduced herself, we talked small talk, then the boat got here. I was still terrified, and then i was freezing. Jill and I got on the ramp, and almost fell off, since it was damp and steep, but we got on the boat, and Kara was laughing at us, cuz we're silly. We got on the boat, and Kara, Jill, and I went to the cabin since we were cold, but since no one came along, we came back up. It took 25 minutes to get to the island. That was about 10:30am. After we got to the Island, we all stood in a circle, and introduced eachother, by throwing around a stuffed gorilla, Noel introduced to us. After passing the Gorilla without using our hands, we were split up into smaller groups. 14 people in each group. we went in front of the middle school and formed a circle (circles were the shape of the weekend) and we introduced ourselves some more. which was fun! we eachother got nicknames. ok ready? "DOG WALKING PETER" (THE instructor/counsler dude), then "KARATE JAMES", "SUPERSTAR FRANKY", "READING ROB", "LAUREL THE LORIETTE", "PHOTOGRAPHER HILARY", "SNOWBOARDING MARY", "LACROSS LAURA", "FIGHT THE POWER JEN" (THE other instructor/counsler), "SINGING LIZZY", "BASS PLAYING COLIN", "HORSEBACK RIDING EMILY", "MOVIE MAKING ARIEL", "FIGURE SKATING MANDY", and "MUSIC MEGHAN". Then, we played a game where we had the world, made as rope rings, then we had to stop in one, and talk to the person(s) in the circle with us, and find one that in common. that was fun! and Mary found "FREDERICK!" (best worm ever!!!!!!!!!!) go worm power. After that we went to the real bathrooms, and got out water bottles, that we had the whole weekend, then gave up, do you understand how attached to those bottles we got? We went to the Giants ladder and everyone except me climbed it. My back hurt. The Giants Ladder is basically a bigladder that we had to climb while harnessed in. and we "baleighed" (not explaining). then we ate lunch, and made a poster, of all the possitive, and negative things we wanted on the trip. After we did that we went to get the infamous bags, sleeping bags, sleep pads (that didnt help), and liner bags. Then I'm pretty sure, but I could be wrong, we went to camp and set up. We had a living room, bathroom, kitchen, dining room, pantry, deck, bedroom, and beautiful view of Boston, and a marsh (go marshes and ticks). We then went for a walk, that was cool, and we went on the boat. which is a giant see-saw looking thing shaped like a boat, and did challenges on that. (did i mention we got to wear snazzy raingear?) We checed out the alpine tower (which i will explain later) and then we went on a scary bridge thing. it was one rope for your feet,and one on each size of your body for balance. (it was across a creek). i was terrified. We went back to camp, ate dinner and got to bed around 11:30, but we gave out beads, so that took a while but Ariel was sleeping, and we had no pillows! I fell asleep at 2:00am. well ead mmore in my next entry
