Finally, a place to call home..
*eep*.. last few weeks have just been awful. :( I hate hunting for a place to live.. but it's all sorted now. We have to move out of the apartment becuase it's for sale, and we can't be bothered staying on to see if the buyers are going to want to rent it out or live in it. I'd rather just get it over and done with now.. So we handed in our notice and are out by the 30th.. Which led to a huge search of finding a new home.. Every morning I've been on three different real estate sites going through 60 odd pages of homes.. it's so tiring just looking at them.. Then there's the calling of the estate agents, organising keys to view them or an inspection time, applications to be filled out.. blech.. finding that most of the places you see advertised nicely on the net are actually complete dumps.. And, I can't live in a dump.. hell, I can't live in a place that's just average.. I need something that I can be proud of.. something really nice..
..which is what we got! :D We viewed a property on Monday.. loved it.. filled out applications, but then realised you needed to have three written references for it.. so we had to wait til Wednesday to hand them in.. On Tuesday, however, we got a call from the estate agent asking when we were going to hand in our application so they can process it (found out that our property manager for this apartment had called them to give them a verbal reference, and it must've been hella good!).. so we go there on Wednesday morning.. only to find out that someone had already put a security deposit on the place and that it was as good as gone.. UNTIL today, when I get a call to say that the people that had applied had pulled their application.. and the place could be ours! :D I've put a security deposit down, and we go sign the lease on Monday! :D I'm so excited!
The place is so nice! It's an apartment above a wine store (there's about 7 stores in this little strip).. has its own access from the rear.. two carparks with roller-door access.. a huge entertaining area when you get up the stairs to it (I'm talking huuuuge.. like I could easily fit two pool tables there!!).. a massive open plan kitchen/meals/lounge.. (dishwasher!! gas cooking!! gas heating!!).. two bedrooms that have an adjoining little courtyard.. main bathroom with laundry taps, and finally.. main bedroom with full ensuite.. :D I'm so in love with this place! I'm used to living in this tiny little 2 bedroom apartment.. and to have all this space.. I'll get lost! *hehe*..
So yes.. I'm all happy!! :D And I'm excited for Sunday because we're going to the DriftNats! :D I love seeing cars drifting!! I hope it's just like when I went to the EasterNats.. that was great fun!! Lots of burnouts, drifting, show cars.. but yeah, this'll just be pure drifting.. Niiiiice!!
Chris' brother bought an R32 Skyline the other day! :D I'm in love with it.. I love going for a ride in it.. I want a car like that now. :( But I still want to get either a 300zx or a Soarer.. dunno..
Anyway.. need to go get ready for work..
