Not many of you on my list have said anything about the London bombings. Maybe they're too distant to affect you. Maybe you're as unsurprised as I am.
The terrible truth is that I don't think you or I will outlive this. Arguably it's been happening since before the crusades, and has always just been in the process of ebb and flow. But deep down I think it's going to get worse. The polarization grows with every new act of violence. Every intentional or unintentional bullet that tears through the body of an innocent in iraq, every bomb that goes off on "our side" of the world.
Israel has been living like this ever since we, in our infinite wisdom, decided to put our hands down on the risk board and displace millions of palestinians from their homes because we somehow wanted to atone what was done to the jews. we saw the blood was on our hands for ignoring it until it reached our doorstep. This is on our doorstep and there is no figurehead we can take down, no country we can invade that will stop it. It is taught to their children, and it is being taught to ours.
I don't think there is any way to stop it.
there is no way to stop it.
