Summary: For a long time Tegoshi has been asking if he could come with Ryo, just once. He is not a little boy and he can take care of himself right? But when Ryo agrees and Tegoshi is outside with him, they meet some other vampires…
A/N: So, this is my third story about Ryo as a vampire and if you haven’t read the first two you can do that here for the first and here for the second :) [It’s not a big problem if you don’t read them, but maybe it’s easier to understand]
“But why can’t I come with you?” Tegoshi stubbornly walked after Ryo through the living room and to the kitchen.
“It’s dangerous”
“But I want to go with you. How am I supposed to sleep at night if I don’t know what you do and if you’re safe?”
“Haven’t we talked about this a dozen times? I can’t take you with me. If I need to run, I can’t take care of you”
In the kitchen Ryo grabbed the whistling kettle of the fire and poured hot water in Tegoshi’s mug.
“I can take care of myself; I’m not some little girl” Tegoshi pouted and hopped on the kitchen’s counter.
“I know you’re not, but I don’t want to take the risk. What if something happened to you? I don’t even want to think about that”
Ryo fished the tea bag out of the mug and handed it to Tegoshi.
“But I’m so worried every time you’re gone” he blew the steam of his tea and put it aside him. “Please take me with you, just one”
“How can I resist when you look at me like that” Ryo stood between Tegoshi legs and caressed his cheek. He smiled when the younger man leaned into the touch like a little kitten.
“Okay” he started. “But only once and then you can never ask again okay?”
“Ha~i!” Tegoshi smiled at Ryo’s smiling face and gave him a kiss. “I’ll never ever ask you again after this”
2 hours later, around 12 o’clock, Tegoshi got nervous. He finally got what he wanted, he would go with Ryo and see what he did at night, but why was he so scared? He never really liked the dark.
He couldn’t see that well and the dark would always take Ryo away from him, but he would try not to be a burden to him and follow him as much as he could.
“Are you coming?” Ryo’s words startled him and he doubted for a few seconds.
“If you don’t want to go, you can stay here and I’ll be back in a few hours” Ryo sat next to Tegoshi on the couch and placed a hand on Tegoshi’s knee.
“No, I want to go” Tegoshi looked at Ryo.
“Okay, then let’s go” he said and stood up.
Tegoshi walked after him to the balcony and watched as Ryo opened the window and jumped down.
It went real smoothly, it was almost as if he was flying.
“Your turn” Ryo whispered and looked up.
“WHAT!? Are you crazy?” Tegoshi whispered back. The last thing he wanted was to wake their neighbours and them finding out about Ryo.
“I’ll catch you”
“No, I’ll take the stairs” Tegoshi said and wanted to walk away when Ryo spoke.
“If you don’t trust me with this, I definitely can’t take you with me” he said and held his hands out to Tegoshi.
Ryo was right; he just needed to trust him. And he did.
Tegoshi swung his legs over the railing of the balcony and held it with his hands.
It was high. They lived on the fourth floor and beneath him everything was rocks. There wasn’t even a bush, only Ryo.
Tegoshi closed his eyes and counted to three.
On three, he let go of the railing and he felt the hard, cold wind against his body.
He had to bite his lower lip to stop himself from screaming and finally landed safely in Ryo’s arms.
“You can open your eyes, you know” Ryo laughed when Tegoshi still had his eyes closed.
“I… am never doing that again!” Tegoshi stood back on his own shaking feet and held Ryo’s hands.
“The first time is always scary” he laughed and pulled Tegoshi through an alley that led away from their house.
“Who taught you all this?” Tegoshi whispered. He didn’t know why he whispered, he just had a feeling he had to.
“I told you about Uchi right? Well, he gave me the phone number of the man who had turned him and I lived at his place for a few months”
“And did you… you know, have a relationship with him?”
“No, we just were good friends, we still are”
“We have to get up the roof now” Ryo said and folded his hands around the drainpipe.
“But I can’t climb that well” Tegoshi’s voice was soft. For the first time, he noticed he was really a burden to Ryo.
“It’s okay, fold your arms and legs around me”
Tegoshi did as him was told and slowly but steadily Ryo began to climb up the drainpipe.
“Am I not heavy?” Tegoshi asked when he heard that the drainpipe wasn’t going to hold them for long.
“No you’re not, but I don’t climb that much”
Ryo grabbed the edge of the roof and pulled him and Tegoshi on it. They both sat on the roof, with their legs over the edge, looking at the other roofs.
“What is it?” he asked when he noticed that Tegoshi was looking at him.
“I never knew you were so strong” he smiled and looked down.
The building where they were on was an old warehouse with 6 floors. It was so dark down in the alley, that he couldn’t even see the ground.
He moved a bit away from the edge and lay on his back.
“Shall we go?” Ryo said as he sat down next to Tegoshi.
“Can we stay here for a few more minutes? I don’t get to spend every night outside” he said without looking away from the full moon.
Ryo lay down next to him and grabbed his hand.
“Sometimes I wish I were one too” Tegoshi suddenly whispered.
“What would you want to be?” Ryo said and leaned over Tegoshi to look in his eyes.
“A vampire”
“What? Why?”
“Because I want to be with you. I want to wander around the city and climb on roofs to see the moon with you”
“I would never let you become a vampire, at least not now. You are so young, you have so many things to do.”
“How romantic” suddenly someone said and Tegoshi and Ryo both looked up.
There stood 4 men and Tegoshi guessed they were vampires, just like Ryo.
“You know Ryo. If the little boy wants to be one of us, why don’t you just turn him?” the boy who stood closest to them said and walked even closer.
“Because he is too young, he just turned 18” Ryo stood up and glared at the boy.
Tegoshi didn’t understand. Who was this boy and why did he know Ryo?
“Well I think he is pretty sure” the boy said and sat down next to Tegoshi.
“Such a pretty boy” he moved his hand over Tegoshi’s cheek and licked his lips. “I wonder what he tastes like”
“You stay away from him Ueda!” Ryo pulled Tegoshi up at his hand and the little boy stood behind his back.
“How sweet… The vampire is protecting the human. But you know about the rule right, Ryo?”
“Rule?” Tegoshi spoke and looked straight in Ueda’s eyes.
“Love between a human and a vampire is prohibited. If they remain together, the human must be turned” Ryo spoke the sentence with a cold tone in his voice.
“I need to be turned?”
Ryo wanted to turn around to say that he would stop them, but he stopped when he saw Tegoshi’s eyes. He was not even scared.
Tegoshi couldn’t move. He was frozen, to stunned by what happened to him.
Everything went in slow motion. Two men, taking Ryo by his arms, away from Tegoshi and the third grabbing his arms from behind. Ryo trying to break free from them, but there was no movement in their grip.
“Ryo, you won’t be able to escape from Jin and Kame” Ueda bend forward, only centimetres away from Ryo’s face and looked at his furious eyes.
“If you lay only one finger on him, you’ll wish you’ve never been born” Ryo’s voice was low and threatening and it would have scared the crap out of Tegoshi if Ryo would talk to him like that.
“Oh, but I’m not going to do anything to this cute boy” Ueda said and turned back to Tegoshi.
He patted the top of Tegoshi’s head and ran his fingertips over his cheek and chin.
“But you are” he smiled and motioned to Jin and Kame to bring him closer.
“What the hell are you talking about!? I would never bit him!” Ryo tried not to move, but the two were just too strong.
Ryo knew these vampires. When Yamapi taught him how to behave and life as a vampire, he often took him to vampire parties.
The first time he and Ueda met, he let Ryo have a go at his neck and the next party it was the other way round. It was only blood that they shared, because Ryo knew that Ueda killed humans for their blood.
Tegoshi was not afraid, but he was. He was afraid he couldn’t control himself once Ueda was done with them. And he would never forgive himself if anything happened to Tegoshi.
“You’re finally getting what you want” Ueda said and with his nails, he scratched Tegoshi’s neck open.
“Don’t hurt him!” Ryo struggled again as he looked at Tegoshi’s eyes. He still wasn’t showing any signs of being scared, but the wound sure hurt and he was bleeding.
Ueda held his fingers in front of the vampire who was holding Tegoshi and he licked them clean as he took them in his mouth.
“Good Koki” Ueda said and pulled his fingers out of his mouth.
Ryo was fuming with rage. If he was free, he would have tried to hit Ueda and kill the three others, but his strength was nothing compared to 4 three hundred year old vampires.
“You will enjoy this” Ueda whispered in Ryo’s ear before he felt a heavy impact on his stomach and bend forward from the pain.
He almost immediately came back up and hissed. Tegoshi saw that his eyes were white and his fangs had appeared.
It’s going to happen, finally.
He let his head fall back to give Ryo access and soon after that, Ryo made an attack on his neck.
All his energy was drained from his body and if it weren’t for Koki, he would have fallen on the ground.
The whole time, he heard the others laugh and felt Ryo’s tongue over his neck to lick the blood that was flowing along his fangs.
He felt Ryo being pulled back before he passed out and was laid down on the ground.
