[SCENE: Freddy and Gant have a heart-to-heart!]

May 07, 2008 02:11

((OOC: This takes place immediately after the von Karma and Diego cafeteria chat))

Gant: *Had been watching the conversation between Freddy von Karma and Diego Armando rather intently for the past few minutes. Brightens to a nice, slightly sinister smile as Diego strides calmly away, fully aware of von Karma's hardly-contained rage. Still, he does what any other inmate in that godforsaken probably wouldn't do: He scoops up his dinner, moves right on over to von Karma's table, slams down his tray and takes a seat* Evenin', Freddy!
Gant: Was that good ol' Deggy I just saw?

vonKarma: *cuts up his food intently, glancing up only to fix the former police chief with a glare* Good evening, Gant. *scowls* You saw who it was.

Gant: HO! *attempting to bait von Karma* A real shame what happened to the ol' boy, eh? With all he's been up to, he'll have a trip straight to the morgue soon enough!
Gant: Do you need ice for that, good fellow? *offers his drinking cup*

vonKarma: *takes the cup, pressing it to his face-- quite aware of how undignified it looks--but the alternative, keeping the red mark exposed, is decidedly just as bad* He should have gone already. He has been receiving outside assistance.
vonKarma: *hisses* I want him out, Damon.

Gant: Hm... *Expression grows more dangerous, though a smirk still dances in his eyes.* Now, my boy, how many times have I heard that from our fellow inmates, eh? Welcome to the club!
Gant: *Cold edge* Though we both know, you and I, that he was not the only man receiving 'outside assistance.'

vonKarma: *glares stonily at Gant* Hmph. Indeed. ...It will take a good month to work the new administration, if the fool is keeping his eyes open. Two for the guards.

Gant: *toothy grin* There's the ol' Freddy I know. *Shovels food into his mouth, conversationally* Think he was bluffing, ol' boy?

vonKarma: *his face betrays nothing* Regarding what?

Gant: *Smiles!* I heard it all, Freddy! HO HO HO!
Gant: I wasn't sittin' very far away, eh?
Gant: So do tell. *Repeats* Was he bluffing?

vonKarma: ............ *simply* He does not have the power. Nor the authority. Nor the connections. *and leaves it at that, beginning to eat the carefully cut slivers of his roast beef*

Gant: Well! *CLAP* Let's consider your options, eh? On one side, Deggy could be a liar. On the other... HO! *Lowers voice* But I'm sure good ol' Freddy'll be able to find out, eh?
Gant: Still, ain't it best to get rid of him now?
Gant: Sometimes you gotta be more direct.

vonKarma: *his eyes narrow into slits* Regardless of whether or not it was merely a bluff or not-- yes. Now.
vonKarma: *begrudgingly* He has an infuriatingly uncanny ability to stay alive.
vonKarma: *this last part is in a hiss, again*

Gant: *Cracks knuckles, kicks back with a devilish grin.* You ain't using all of your resources, Freddy.
Gant: What's that saying, again? HO! "Two heads are better than one"?
Gant: You've got a whole wing full of men itching for blood.
Gant: You could be taking advantage of that, ol' fellow, eh?

vonKarma: *raises a craggy eyebrow* And are you suggesting I use you as a 'resource', Damon Gant?
vonKarma: *glares at Gant--and then continues on eating, all too used to the long pauses in his conversation*

Gant: Oh ho...? *feigns surprise* Are you asking me, Freddy?

vonKarma: *in yet another hiss* Yes.

Gant: *Long, piercing stare. Makes a show of considering for quite awhile.*
Gant: *Coldly* No. You're on your own.
Gant: Time's a-ticking!
Gant: *Cheerful smile, salute*
Gant: *picks up his dinner and moves on to another table*

vonKarma: *if glares could kill, there'd be a large orange-suited man collapsed on the ground, with a gaping wound across his back. As it is, Manfred is only able to stare at the ex-police chief as he moves away-- his fists clamp over his cutlery hard enough to hurt if that sort of pain would register in his head--but it does not, and after a long drawn out moment of fuming he finishes eating and leaves the cafeteria*

diego, freddy, kill, von karma, evilness
