Day 12 - An episode you've watched more than 5 times
I talked about this in comments the other day...there are a few I've watched several times, but I'm going to go with my old standby, "The Christmas Lunch Incident" from The Vicar of Dibley. It's the first episode I ever watched, and caught it quite by accident one December...I think 1998, so I was pregnant with Leah at the time. I was flipping channels upstairs and stopped because I thought I saw Roseanne Barr. It was, of course, the amazing Dawn French, sitting down to dinner with David and Hugo Horton. I recognized James Fleet from my fifty million viewings of Four Weddings and a Funeral, so I kept watching, and oh god, how I laughed. KC came up not long after, all "wtf is so funny up here?", and then he broke into hysterics as well.
That was it for us. We haunted PBS for episodes, and then a few years ago--2004 or 05--I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket and Suncoast had the boxed set with the first three series. That was all she wrote. It is now Thanksgiving tradition to watch "The Christmas Lunch Incident" sometime after dinner, and we watch it as often as we watch A Christmas Story. Even during the rest of the year, if I am tired and sad and particularly in need of a laugh, the Vicar DVDs get hauled out and I watch them all, straight through. The Christmas ones several times.
PETER CAPALDI, FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE! Obligingly goofy, with an adorably dorky laugh. "For Aoife...missing 'U', always!" Or:
Tristan: "You should meet her brother, Bréifne!" (omg i love
shadowkitty so so much)
Geraldine: "Spelled K-R-N-T-Q-Zed?"
Aoife: "That's the guy!"
Every single bit of it. I love this episode. It means Christmas. Or, you know. PMS.
