“Joy.”
The girl who's leaning her back against his bed doesn’t flinch. Her eyes are focused on the monitor, her fingers handle the console in frisky movements.
“Joy.”
Taehyung pokes her shoulder, but she doesn’t give out any reaction. The boy sighs and lay on his stomach, turns his head to the side so he can see her serious face.
“Joyy, don’t ignore me.” Taehyung puffs his cheeks, his fingers trail lazily on the side of her face which she brushes immediately.
“What the hell, Taehyung. Stop bothering me,” she grumbles but still doesn’t glance at Taehyung even for a bit.
He sighs loudly. She’s always like this, unshakeable when she’s focused on something, especially when she’s playing games. Joy will put one hundred percent of her concentration into it, to beat the enemies in the monitors. She will ignore all kind of possible threat that might ruin her playing, including Taehyung.
There was this time in which Taehyung tried to win her attention over the new Need for Speed game. They were in his room, like usual. Joy doesn’t have her own console, so that’s why she will come over to Taehyung’s room every time she wants to play.
Taehyung also likes to play, but he’s not that addicted, unlike Joy. In fact, the reason he possesses this gaming console is because Joy’s parents will never buy her one. The other reason, well, let’s say he is happy to have Joy in his room.
Back to the story about Need for Speed. It was a usual day after school and Joy came over to his room after she bought the newest installment of the game. They played two rounds together before Taehyung got bored and decided to let Joy play alone. But not playing with Joy was even more boring, which led Taehyung to interrupt the girl.
He talked to her, ruffled her long hair, poked her cheeks, sang a song with loudly, whispered to he ears.
She didn’t budge at all.
Taehyung was frustrated at this point, and he decided to do something he never dreamed before.
He kissed her.
Joy ignored him for the rest of the weeks.
“Joyyyy….”
“Dammit Taehyung. Just shut your mouth!” She groans upon hearing Taehyung’s sulking voice. The girl finally lets go of the console in her hands and looks over to Taehyung who’s laying on the bed behind her.
Taehyung stares intently at her, his mouth tightly shuts. Joy rolls her upper body so that now she’s facing the boy. She puts her head down on the bed, so their gazes are on the same level. Slowly, she closed her eyes.
“You tired?” Taehyung asks.
“Hell no. I’m just dizzy from all your whining,” she snorts. Taehyung chuckles.
“I won’t whine if you give me enough of your attention. I mean, it’s so not cool to get jealous over a game.”
Joy rolls her eyes at his reasoning. “You’re weird. The other boys will have their girlfriend jealous because of game. But you’re the one who gets jealous here.” She shakes her head, can’t even believe it.
Taehyung laughs. “Well, you’re the weird one.”
He brings his face closer to her and places a kiss on her lips.
Joy blinks her eyes, then laughs along with him. The boy wraps his arms around her head and sniffs on the strawberry scent from her hair.
This is Joy, his childhood friend, and also the girl he loves.
