School continues to be mind-numbingly boring, and work usually consists of directing lost patrons to the printers/bathrooms, so nothing really new or exciting. I have discovered that Dana (my friend Dana here at Rutgers, not Dana from home) apparently loves Sailor Moon as much as I do, so the two of us are in the process of watching the entire series. We've made it up to episode 20 so far, and I hope that we have at least half of season two done by the end of the semester. We eat pizza and popcorn and Diet Coke, and relentlessly mock everything the dubbed version because it is both awful and wonderful in divergent but important ways. It's probably the closest I have to a social life here.
I do meet up with Emma about once a week to have dinner at Busch campus. We're both nerds, but in different directions. She's more BSG/Star Trek, while I'm more anime/Internet nerdy. But we're both pretty well-read, and we tend to like the same general areas of things, so conversations are never *that* hard to make.
However? Turns out that one of the girls who was in multiple classes of mine last semester--and this one--is an anime fan. Cathy, the one I think I posted about who likes video games? (Phoenix Wright, Zelda, etc.) Turns out we have a *lot* more in common. We've Facebooked each other and spent part of last night's class sharing Youtube kitten videos and giggling over how unproductive we were.
At this point, I'm sort of just hanging in there. The last big thing I have--that I know about so far, my InfoTech professor hasn't even mentioned our final project--is due on April 19th, with a presentation on the 26th, I think? That class and my Info Literacy class end kinda early, so I'm planning to stick around and pick up extra hours; I still need to ask my boss about it.
Summer is what I'm looking forward to. Yes, I'll be taking classes, but I'll be able to see my friends (not sure if Janet will be back), and I'll be home. In my own room! The only sucky part is that there really aren't any summer jobs around there. I'm trying to see about getting an internship at the local community college's library, so if that works out, maybe Mom will be less un-thrilled.
In horribly geeky news, I've bought the third Phoenix Wright game, and am working through that. I may buy the fourth, even though Phoenix isn't the main character...Apollo and Klavier are just too cute not to. Still eagerly awaiting a laundry list of games. You know. The same sad story.
