In Spring every year there is a International Congress on Medieval Studies that is held by The Medieval Institute which is part of Western Michigan University's College of Arts & Sciences. This event takes place in Kalamazoo, MI and is attended by a spectacular array of Medievalists. Plus, there are merchants, publishing companies, and displays of reproductions and actual Medieval items. Website: www.wmich.edu/medieval/congress.
It is very likely that I will become a regular attendee of this, if I am able. At least two of my favorite teachers at Kent State present papers quite often: Dr. Susanna Fein and Dr. Susan Sainato. If you get a chance to see either of them talk, I recommend them, not only for their knowledge, but also because of their enthusiasm.
